Ok

Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedOk place to work with good benefits but also very demanding. Being a very big international corporate it looks very good in your resume, so definitely worth working for them.

Good for short-term plans and moving fast onto something else
Category Manager (Former Employee) - Remote - 3 September 2023
The "theory" of the job itself sounded fulfilling, challenging, great salary, great culture etc... in practicality, it's nothing but. -You start with a reasonable salary but no pay rises or bonuses unless you change jobs. -No promotion plans or "here's how to". If you want a promotion, you apply for a different role. - Maternity leave is one of the worst in the market, with no flexibility on working hours on the return. -Self-service/ do it yourself culture - you have a problem, you fix it "here's the 50 page manual on how to do it". -Poor management with no former training, education or relevant/current skills. They are purely administrators. -0 communication. Whole teams "vanish", people "disappear", jobs change without warning, internal services get outsourced to big corporations... nobody gets informed, warned or communicated.
Pros
Competitive Salary. Good for young ambitious people who want that step into the corporate world.
Cons
Self-service culture, you are on your own with little to no support. No pay rises or bonuses, no promotions, benefits come out of your pocket... not ideal for the long stay.

Laid back place to work
Software Engineer (Current Employee) - Bristol - 13 April 2023
Good place to work, however, minimal opportunities to progress. The salary is a little below industry standard, and increases can be quite difficult to obtain.

Great company to work for
Commercial Manager (Former Employee) - Reading, Berkshire - 10 August 2020
Worked at Oracle for just under 6 years and they were the best years of my career! A company constantly improving its processes. A company where the word diversity is not just a corporate buzz word. Learnt many things and worked with the best in the industry.
Pros
Everyone wants to help, no hot potato culture

Oracle
Enterprise Sales Manager (Former Employee) - Field Based - 29 June 2020
It can be a tough environment, but to the pros outweighed the cons for me.
Nothing else to add other than the need to fight for your compensation on a regular basis as the comp team made quite a few mistakes in my experience

Go in with eyes open
Architect (Former Employee) - Reading, Berkshire - 16 June 2020
The company treats employees very, very well and it's possible to settle down, do what your boss says and have a good life.
If you prefer to engage with a team, understand customer requirements and generally be part of anything remotely Agile, then look elsewhere. Or at least be very, very careful to find out what your manager's style is before accepting an offer.
Pros
Pay, work-life balance, canteens, training
Cons
X style management, shifting priorities

Excellent Canteen at Reading, Great employees, Modern Workplace

You have to put the hard work in to be successful which isn't a bad thing

Productive and excellent workplace
Director, Cloud Customer Success UK & Israel (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 8 June 2020
I worked for Oracle over 7 years and was able to establish and grow an excellent career. I worked in 2 individual roles and then moved to managing teams leaving the business as a director. You make your own career and the opportunities are there.

Don't expect a pay rise
Solutions Consultant (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 29 April 2020
Bargain hard at the start. you won't get another pay rise unless you get a promotion. Managers are just administrators - dont expect support from them unless it suits them to do so.

Autonomous working
Account Director (Former Employee) - Reading, Berkshire - 16 April 2020
Great products, poor strategy, management is ok. Excellent work life balance, strong package, excellent training. If you are a self starter and like working on your own this is perfect

Buy companies and let people fail
Senior Account Executive, EMEA (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 4 March 2020
Got approached by Oracle for a 'Great Role' it was a revolving door with team members leaving every two months and new ones coming in to fail with lack of support for good people.
