good but busy sometimes
Administration Assistant (Former Employee) - Wolverhampton, West Midlands - 16 August 2022
Fairly relaxed in terms of rules and restrictions. Management are fair & friendly and lenient. Only thing I would say is a lot of gossiping between management and favouritism when dishing out holidays
Pros
friendly
Cons
short lunch & loads of workload

Great place to work - very motivating and supportive
Customer Quality Manager (Current Employee) - Wolverhampton, West Midlands - 10 May 2022
Great place to work, very supportive environment and people. Management are constantly helping you to develop and do better. Though it can get stressful at times, its all a part of challenging yourself. I'm learning something new every day, which excites me. I have been recommending OSB to my friends as I strongly feel they're a good employer.

Good salary and bonus but you'll pay for it
IT (Former Employee) - Kent - 12 February 2022
Poor tech (none) & non-integrated IT even 2 years after merging with another business. Non-flexible working (office rota three days per week). Aggressive sales and targets oriented. Multiple heads of department with conflicting ideas. Difficulties parking. Senior managers are visible and they lead by example e.g. by ignoring the parking rules and not working from the office Mondays and Fridays. People are getting wise and seem to be leaving the business every week.
Pros
Vending machines, nice desks and chairs
Cons
No canteen, poor parking

19 September 2023Thank you for your review and comments around salary and benefits. In response to our Tech and IT, we have recently embarked on an extensive Modernisation, Simplification and Transformation programme across the whole of the business. Our hybrid approach enables us to collaborate with our colleagues face-to-face. We now have additional parking at the Observatory to alleviate any difficulties for our employees. If you would like to talk through any of these points in more detail, please feel free to contact the HR Department directly.

Very Seniors Managers are the problem
Team Leader (Former Employee) - Chatham/Wolverhampton - 9 July 2021
Looks good on the surface but once you are there the culture is so bad, wrong doings are covered up at the highest level. They are good at ticking boxes but do not live by any of their so called values not sure if the non executive board or CEO really know what's going on but if they do I despair. Just look at some of your own survey results please.
Pros
None
Cons
Senior managers

No values, awful culture
Team Leader (Current Employee) - Wolverhampton, West Midlands - 25 May 2021
Senior managers and Exco are lacking people and leadership skills. They very loosely promote values just to tick a box some of the Group Heads have terrible reputations due to their poor ethics. If you fit into the 'old boys club' you will be fine but God help you if you dont. Not sure if Non Executive Directors and the CEO know what is happening in some Depts but they dont care about the staff or customers, it's all about quantity NOT quality and money.
Pros
Parking
Cons
They think nothing of treating people badly

The company does not care about their staff
Lending Test lead (Former Employee) - Chatham, Kent - 17 May 2021
I had an inexperienced manager who knew nothing about testing and how to nanage her team. I took on a lot of work and most days I worked until 8or 9pm at night. If you try to make suggestions to management on improving processes they don't listen. There was no option for progressing further in the company. There was also a bullying culture particularly in our area. The team were afraid to speak. I left mentally scarred and my confidence at an all time low. I would never go back there and would not recommend the company to anyone who wanted to work there. The company I work for now understand their staff and look after the well being of their staff and now I feel valued and appreciated.
Pros
It was close to home
Cons
Long hours, bullying managers, under appreciated

Jobs at OSB Group
Toxic
Intermediary call centre assistant (Current Employee) - Wolverhampton, West Midlands - 13 May 2021
No consideration for staff. Managers have no tact. Processes are not followed. HR is just as bad. No incentives to do better, it is just expected of you to break your back for little to no acknowledgement.
Cons
Everything

Awful place to work - nightmare hr team
Prefer not to say (Former Employee) - Chatham, Kent - 29 December 2020
Worst company to work for, ever.... Exec team focused on delivery and don’t care about employees at all. No support from hr for managers and department heads. expectations for good survey scores with no support or recognition of reasons for poor scores such as unrealistic deadlines. No support from hr to resolve or manage out poor performance. Morale is poor as good employees are broken with poorly managed staff, lack of hr support and unrealistic deadlines. Situation has worsened since the merger - now everyone is fighting for future - even though Osb teams are more advanced than Ccfs colleagues and processes. Join at your peril....
Pros
Local
Cons
Long hours, no support from hr, unrealistic deadlines on projects

Free tea and coffee milk and water
Cons

Productive and fun workplace
Financial Reporting Accountant (Former Employee) - Wolverhampton, West Midlands - 14 May 2020
Excellent people, very helpful. I would love to work with them again on a permanent role. The role itself was ideal for my development. The bonus entitlement was very generous.

Productive and collaborative workplace
Work Experience Student (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 11 May 2020
Team environment where everyone was engaged and willing to work together. Despite being in a highly competitive industry, these stresses did not appear to prevent a collaborative work environment.

Some seriously poor very senior managers
PMO and Project Lead (Former Employee) - Chatham, Kent - 7 May 2020
The total lack of quality and quantity of resources necessary to deliver projects means everything runs late, which of course is always the Project Managers fault (That is sarcasm in case it's misinterpreted).
120% of normal contractual hours are the norm for Project Managers. Repeated escalations on the dangerous nature of this level of work go unheeded

Fun place to work
Lead Copywriter (Current Employee) - Chatham - 28 February 2020
Lots potential - can seem a little chaotic at times, but the team is honestly one of the best I've ever worked in
So much fun and made some really good friends

Company is growing
Senior Business Analyst (Former Employee) - Kent - 30 December 2019
Had an awful time travelling to and from work (M25 & Dartford tunnel - Dont if you have to!)
They didn't have a structured project office at the time I worked there so projects were a bit hap hazard.

Started great disintegrated into a vile place
Helpdesk Manager (Former Employee) - Wolverhampton, West Midlands - 1 November 2019
CcFS was fantastic, firdt 3.5 years were very good, then they bought in low quality staff that werent engaged in company culture or company journey, ruined a great company. Does have a known documented issue with bullying in IT, i wasnt allowed a leavers interview because that would have been 3 people making same comment and mean they had to action.

Good company, no progression
Customer Relations Officer (Former Employee) - Chatham, Kent - 30 October 2019
Good company and pay was reasonable however there just isn’t any movement if you want to progress and be developed. Poor lower level management but great higher level.
Shame they can’t support personal development and keep people in the company as the company as a hole is fine and has a good work life balance.
