productive, Fun, Challenging and person centred
I have worked at the company for 8 years as a full time member of staff and 2 years on an agency. The management structure offers you a clear direction and supports you in your work development. Management have an open door policy and allow staff to positively challenge decisions and always advocate for a forward thinking progression.

Don't really know what theyre trying to achieve
Poor management, more concerned with their own careers than kids. Had been teaching in mainstream edcation for a long time before taking on a role here, and was quickly able to develop a relationship with the kids whereby I got them working and mostly focussed by giving a bit to get a bit. Management were not happy with this however, and seemed to want to bully the kids into submission as their only method of interaction. Allowing them to listen to an online radio while they worked AS long as they worked - not allowed. Treating them like human beings and equals - not allowed. The fact that senior staff triggered every single child into a rage on sight seemed to escape everyone there. After trying to understand what these people were trying to achieve, apart from making money (honestly there were a few kids there who should just not have been), I lost the battle and went to work in a private school teaching physics. I wanted to help but help is not on the agenda, breaking them like wild horses seems to be the model, followed by long meetings soul searching why the kids are so angry and uncooperative. Very sad made me angry and upset for the kids but there was nothing I could do.

Not a great company
Don't waste your time, staff are not supported. You end up under paid and short staffed all of the time. They will over work you and not listen to any issues. Honestly don't waste you're time. The residents was treated unfairly to the one that was favored compared to the rest. At least 7 members of staff left with in 6 months.

Opportunity to progress
It is a fast paced job, restructure has given a new feel to the service which reflects in the lives of the service users. There is lots of support and opportunities to progress in the role and make a career out of the job. It is hard work but very rewarding!!!
