Just like any other NHS organisation

If you've worked for one NHS trust, they really are all the same. Set salary bands, usually a requirement to work weekends and all the usual benefits in terms of pension and annual leave allowance.

Supportive team

Lovely people, lots of opportunities to work on different projects, flexible working, focus on wellbeing. Usual difficulties at IAPT of complex clients, not enough time in the day and staff burning out.

Good people

A lovely team in general and quite laid back compared to other IAPT services although it’s becoming more target driven as of late. It’s a huge service now.

Interesting job and good progression

I found this job challenging and yet fulfilling. I have been able to progress throughout and I am about to start a doctorate in counselling psychology.

Progressive and innovative service.

The forensic service I both received and joined and still help develop is world class. True the usual risk averse culture is likely to kick back against all the rapid changes in service user Involvement. But, this service is pushing boundaries in positive directions which so far have been highly successful.

Pros

Being in a culture which is feels nicely inclusive.

Cons

NHS is poorly paid but is about is not just a job but a calling!

Good

Good place to work. Surrounded by helpful people. Enjoy my job and feel that the trust is big on learning and development. Recommend to work at this trust

Could do better

Lots of positive talk about employee wellbeing and then treat the staff like a number! Staff are overworked and underappreciated. All talk and little action

Simple and Straightforward

Tasks are straight forward - booking, sending and receiving work, responding to email queries, assisting seniors with day to day tasksFriendly team members, organised workflow

Different to how it was when first joined. Some people care about the patients, but this can get a bit lost sometimes. Some staff are nice and friendly.

Pros

Some nice people

Cons

Losing sight of the patient

Very poor Trust to work for

I have worked for this Trust on and off in various roles for about 20 years. There is far too many Managers who have no respect for their staff. A toxic culture of never being listened to no regard for staff very target driven at the detriment of patients and staff alike. Would advise moving into the private sector as at least the pay, hours and benefits are more worthwhile though equally a toxic culture here!

Great place to work

Such a pleasure to be a part of this team. They are fully devoted to day to day care of an older people completing their tasks with a compassion. They are supportive to other colleagues. Great team to be involved with.

Very poor management

Management refuse to listen to staff so excellent staff leave. No collaboration whatsoever. The 'work smarter, not harder' mantra is an utter joke.Poor induction from over-worked peers. No cohesive line management. Lots of initial paperwork but no follow up with structured induction or training leading to frustration. As a Band 4 administrator, you can expect too much responsibility, including people management, for well less than £25k - madness. If you're in it for the long haul the pension's good - for now.

Pros

Generally nice people.

Cons

Terrible management.

Enjoyable

I only worked at the Nuffield for 11 months due to the commute but I did enjoy it, staff very friendly and helpful, I worked with a lovely supportive team in the OP department and on BIU. Hours were good pay was ok but found something more suitable closer to home.

Pros

Friendly staff

Cons

Parking

Caring and supportive employer

Great place to work; caring and supportive environment with good management structure. Keep staff well informed with regular updates and events. Good CPD and advancement opportunities!

Worst team to eork for

New managers that have been promoted to ' fit in' unexpressed and so do not have knowledge and skills to support others. Revolving door team people leave the team all the time due to being unhappy by the way they are treated. Not given an opportunity to be autonomous. Underpinned always

Pros

Team members supportive

Cons

No resources wuth non stop complaints

Boring place to work

Raglan House was an awful place to work. They refer to you as your band especially certain members of management because you're a lower band than themselves. They were patronising and false. Not genuine people at all.

Satisfactory

Nice company but NHS agenda for change does not cover the Oxford living rate so unfortuently I could not afford to continue working without picking up extra shifts onto of full time work.

Bullying Managers!

I would not recommend this trust! There’s too many managers that bully and intimidate hardworking staff. Despite raising concerns nothing happens, the trust continues to loose dedicated staff due to incompetence managers. Staff are expected to move and change shifts to cover shifts without being asked.

A good Trust

Very busy work environment, good L&D support, some opportunities to progress. Some managers are very good whilst one or two are bullies. Workplace culture is generally OK unless you get on the wrong side of one or two managers.
