Worked here as a temp over Christmas, was an okay place of work but I felt the training wasn’t great and just kind of left to your own devices (which I felt wasn’t great for me as I was new just starting off in retail)

Fun place to work

They push you to progress, staff and management always willing to help. Pay could be better, especially for management. Good staff discount along with uniform allowance

Not much support from higher management

My shop was good to work in, it made profit, clean and tidy, well managed, everyone helped each other out. Company wasn't so good. Pay wasn't great. Overtime every week but Holidays were paid at basic hours instead of average hours worked. Company went into administration alot of head office staff were gone. There was rarely anyone to contact with regards to problems. After covid we kind of got left to it then one Friday during a big delivery a phone call came to say we were closing that day and be out by Tuesday, that was the end of that.

Enjoyed my time thoroughly - felt like one big family.

I loved my time at Peacocks. I felt like a tight-knit family and we all had eachother's backs. Management would usually take your side. There was always opportunity for advancement and further training if you put in the work. It was always laid back and fun.

Pros

Employee discount, great work-life balance

Cons

Sometimes not enough hours

Good for a weekend job

Worked at it whilst at sixth form. Minimum wage but that’s to be expected. 4 hour contract but could get 8/12 during peak times. High turnover during my time.

Fun, productive, busy

So so friendly !! Love the group I work with. However could do with more support up top! Customers are lovely, nice big shop in a big shopping centre, the team are encouraging& have boosted my confidence since being there

Alright

Used to love working for this company, the atmosphere and vibe of the people working there is amazing. Pay isn't so great depending on what department you work in

Part time

It was ok, but constantly on your feet, staff were friendly, management was quite helpful and encouraging. I was only there for a year and was quite content, you got a discount on clothing after working there for 3 months.

Okay but extremely understaffed!!!

I’m a student and only work the weekends, however, due to the company being extremely understaffed, they constantly ask me to work days that i can’t. Managers are nice. Minimum wage unfortunately. Had no prior experience but still got offered the job right after the interview (as I said, they’ll likely be understaffed!)

Easy but busy

friendly team, fair manager, good job to work around college but not great for those wanting more to very part time hours . Can get real busy and be stressful to keep up with customer demand as is with most retail. Duties were serving on the till, tidying clothes in store, helping customers, processing returns, unpacking new stock

Productive ,hard work, heavy lifting

You must be very fit for this job and there is a lot of late nights and heavy lifting involved … I was a supervisor and felt there was nothing I could aspire to in this company which closed due to decline in market trading

Can be fun but hard working fast pace.

Stressed when I first started at peacock's cuse I didn't know what to do but the staff was a good help and the people working with me. I found the breaks too short. But other than that it was okay 👍

Pros

Friendly place to work.

Cons

Hours bit too long and breaks too short.

I really enjoyed it at peacocks but the pay is not enough

I had two managers in the time I worked there, but they was both nice and had good work ethics as they would help out a lot if around if needed and was there to try to help you out on work shifts I did love working there it just didn’t give me the hours I needed or the pay it should be at least £10/£10.50 hour for all the hard work you have to do plus the trouble from customers and believe me they are the worst sometimes but the regulars make it worth it

Pros

You are made to feel part as a work family

Cons

Not enough hours only at Christmas time Not enough pay

Worst place Iv ever worked

Iv never worked in such a badly run place before, no manager, there was one supervisor and that one spoke to the sales assistants like rubbish. There is no respect from the higher authority whatsoever. No thanks for anything you do. I didn’t enjoy coming to this job and dreaded it every day so I left :)

Pros

Decent hours

Cons

No management, no respect from higher authority

Expect too much

I worked for peacocks for 9 years and worked my way up to assistant manager. Regional manager expects the world from the management team for not much more than min wage. Home life can not interfere. Extra hours with no pay. No thanks.

Pros

50% uniform

Cons

Pay, hours, regional management
