A place to work if you care
Since the take over things are changing for the better. Has been a vast improvement in procedures and policies. The company genuinely care for their staff as well as the young people in their care

Not worth your mental health
If you want to make a difference to the lives of children who live in care and are a hardworking and resilient person, working in residential care is definitely for you. Working for Pebbles however, is definitely not. You could go to work for Pebbles with the best intentions but it would only be a matter of time before you burn out or give up.Unfortunately since the 'restructure' the company's priority seems to be making money over the welfare of the children or staff. The restructure itself was handled horrendously. Most of the homes ended up way understaffed because Pebbles got rid of too many people or staff left because of not knowing where they stood. You will be pressured into doing extra shifts and you will be guilt tripped if you say no or have the audacity to prioritise your personal life. You will be contacted a lot when you aren't on shift. If something goes wrong it is always the staffs fault, even if they are just doing what they have been asked to do from higher up.I worked in a few of the homes and there are good people who work here but most have left or want to leave. Most are fed up of not feeling valued, not feeling safe or listened too. The role obviously comes with challenges but you should never feel like you are seriously at risk and not supported. Get used to the phrase 'Its your job!'
Residential Childcare Officer. in Stockton-on-Tees, Durham

Children were fantastic management team toxic.
Depending how the staff treat the children, the job could be fun as well as demanding. There used to be team leaders and the team leaders didn't have the correct skills. They gave and made wrong decisions and blamed their staff. The manager had 2 sides, which made the job difficult. Lack of communication and a very blamed environment. Pebbles Care is about making money from vulnerable children.Non supportive Area managers, they had many faults, and because of their titles, they also used it for their own advantages. HR also have each other's backs also. Experience you will never forget.Fantastic children, shame about the care the company provide.

New role new job
The looked after Child sector can be a challenging sector to work Pebbles Values underpin a positive therapeutic model to support young people. Staff are supported and its a great place to be, to learn, to advance early days for me, but the feelings people and homes are all amazing, great job great company and fab staff at all levels.

Rewarding work
I would still class myself as quite new to the company but have always felt like part of the team, all departments work closely together and have a very supportive culture of each other. They invest highly in the employee's and also are keen to progress and promote employee's to their full potential.
