If your face fits it’s good

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Management tend to have their favourites and if it’s not you there’s not much support. But it was a good team mostly. It is long hours but then the rewards can be there financially.

Great Culture, Solid Career Path

I previously worked for the company many years ago and re joined some time ago after moving back to the area. Best decision i have made in my career in the motor trade. The support has been great from the management and the culture of the team is built around support and development of myself and those around me. If you work hard your future and career is definitely in your own hands and you can go very far.

Pros

Pay and Benefits, Leadership Opportunities

Cons

Diabolical

Steer clear as you are treated like dirt by managers and other staff. Constantly blamed for others mistakes and always having to work late and not paid for it. Constantly having to rely on bonuses as pay is below minimum wage but they try to say it’s not as they include bonuses as there yearly wage and you don’t always get a bonus

Worst Company Ever

Be warned they have reduced the starting wage from £20k to £15k. If you want the better salary you have to work 6 days. The management team are absolutely diabolical. They have no experience in managing staff, they give you 1 week training then expect you sell 27 cars a month. If you don’t hit your target then they will start to immediately get you out the door. Also they say you get 32 days holidays.... but you are never allowed to take them. Also you have to work 10 sundays min a year, unlike what they say

Lack of competent staff

Peter Vardy Aberdeen was the largest Vauxhall site in the UK if not Europe. The company itself was welcoming, professional in the upper tiers and provided a competitive salary. The best Technicians left Aberdeen to work on the oil & gas rigs so the lack of workshop productive talent caused high customer satisfaction issues. My day consisted of dealing with customer complaints, written, email, and in person face to face visits one after the other. I felt this was not the position I was interviewed for and this diluted my effectiveness as compared to the brief I was given when interviewed. Given more time I would have made a difference and bare no animosity towards Peter Vardy who always remained professional and approachable in my dealings with him and his staff.

Wouldn’t recommend

Good company to work for years ago but has went majorly downhill. Most managers are dictators and unrealistic. If selling the hours required leave you no life and most of the time job is extremely stressful and under lots of pressure.

No support from HR

Boss was bullying me so I contacted HR, ended up being paid off with nothing resolved. Someone else left after the day I left. Yet to be paid of 2 weeks but denied access to payslip so wait to see if that happens. Lied to about commissions and pay, calculated pay and was getting minimum wage (6.15) with no commission because it hadn’t ‘been sorted’ yet. Worked 10 hours mon-fri with 1 half an hour break left with £1100. No social life horrible place they don’t care about their staff and they lie to customers. Do NOT recommend unless you want to be severely depressed for the rest of your life.

Pros

Was nice to for a month

Cons

Bullying, bad pay, long hours, liars

Glad I joined the motor trade

This is the first time I have worked in the motor trade and I must say I have really enjoyed my start with the company. I have been here 5 months now and it was the best jump I have made. Its is very fast paced but no 2 days are the same. I have had a lot of support and settled in well. the pay potential is great so if you work hard you get paid well. Best move Ive made

Pros

training, pay, great incentives

Cons

hours can be long

Not a bad place to work

Salary for telephonist or poor especially considering the work we do or the assistance we provide other departments. No time and a half or correct overtime paod when you work extra hours. Holidays are decent but the training is poor I had one day training before I was left to take calls.

Pros

Holiday pay

Cons

Poor pay and cafeteria opinion isnt really listened too
