a typical day at work? workplace culture?
HR Business Partner (Current Employee) - Manchester, Greater Manchester - 6 September 2023
I had the pleasure of working at PHMG, and I can't say enough about the incredible culture and fun-filled work environment they provide. From day one, it was evident that PHMG values its employees and goes above and beyond to ensure everyone enjoys their time at the company. One of the standout aspects of PHMG's culture is the strong sense of camaraderie among colleagues. The team spirit here is unparalleled, with everyone working together towards common goals. This fosters a collaborative atmosphere where ideas flow freely, and innovation is encouraged. It's truly inspiring to be surrounded by such dedicated and talented individuals. PHMG also places a significant emphasis on personal growth and development. The company offers various opportunities for skill enhancement and career advancement, ensuring that employees can reach their full potential. Whether it's through workshops, training programs, or mentorship, they invest in their people, which is a testament to their commitment to their staff's success. What really sets PHMG apart, though, is the fun factor. The company understands the importance of work-life balance and regularly organizes enjoyable activities and events for employees. Whether it's team-building outings, themed parties, or even just casual Friday gatherings, PHMG knows how to make the workplace an enjoyable and engaging space. In addition to the camaraderie and personal development opportunities, the company's dedication to giving back to the community through various charitable initiatives is truly commendable. It's inspiring to see a company that -

Great place to work, with great people
Client Services Executive (Current Employee) - Manchester, Greater Manchester - 30 August 2023
I've worked for PHMG for around 3 years now, in that time I've worked in many arms of the business, it is hard work at times, but the rewards speak for themselves, and the colleagues you have are always on hand to help and support.

Massive backward career-move
Copywriter (Former Employee) - Manchester, Greater Manchester - 24 July 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? The pay is often above market rates. But then again, it needs to be. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? ‘Challenging’ senior stakeholders — often impossible to please, indecisive, capricious, prone to outbursts and duplicitous. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Utterly toxic. They care enormously about appearances but it’s a veneer. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Lurching, unpredictable chaos. But with the possibility of a free lunch, by means of apology for some undeserved overreaction by a member of the Exec. So, rough with the smooth.

Avoid at all costs
Credit Controller (Former Employee) - Manchester, Greater Manchester - 24 July 2023
Don’t be fooled by the shiny image they present to you. The managers couldn’t care less about their staff and the company culture is very cliquey and toxic. Some of the rewards are good but if you value your mental health, DO NOT WORK HERE.

Horrendous place to work
Client services (Former Employee) - Manchester - 6 July 2023
Don’t believe what the interviewee advises on interview stages, the image of the company is great but when you start you realise why they have so many bad reviews and also why the staff turn over is so high. You have to be in management pockets to make it work and also if your face doesn’t fit then they will make it there priority to make your life a misery. No HR and all management aren’t helpful. This company needs to be investigated
Pros
Nothing
Cons
Expect the world

Just don’t
IT Manager (Former Employee) - Manchester, Greater Manchester - 30 January 2023
All the negative reviews are true. Lack of progression, false promises, no HR, repetitive meaningless work, a frat type of culture where you’re always encouraged to drink, etc

Tech department is a battery farm. No thinkers wanted.
Engineer (Former Employee) - Manchesterer remote - 2 September 2022
I can only comment on the Tech implementation department. I would keep clear! The manager openly lies giving professional security and development promises. Sadly there is none of this. I was there for 7 years and didn't get put on a single course. My skill set became marginalised and rather than up skill me they made me redundant having hired someone else. There are some great people in the department but they deserve better than a manager that knows fundamentally nothing about telecoms and makes ill thought out panic decisions when pressured by top management. They pay well but you are just a number.

Honesty appalled
Account Manager (Former Employee) - Manchester, Greater Manchester - 20 May 2022
I only worked here for 2 months the amount of lies is truly baffling, how they treat staff is truly shocking, never been so upset and unhappy with a work situation before, AVOID at all costs an absolute disgrace of a company.
Pros
If the lies they told were true there would be pros but there are none
Cons
LIES constantly, everything.

A truly painful place to work
Account Manager (Former Employee) - Manchester - 8 May 2022
Just don’t do it to yourself. Huge lack of diversity and modern thinking. Management is poor and the way I saw people being treated is why they have such a high turnover of staff.
Pros
Colleagues are great, but that’s it.
Cons
Everything

Tough place to work
Sales Development Representative (Former Employee) - Manchester, Greater Manchester - 17 January 2022
Very long hours. Culture is not great and management are extremely harsh. You can earn good money but the hours can be crazy. As a first job in can be ok as anywhere else you got after won't be as brutal

Alright money but expect to have no life
Outbound B2B Cold Calling (Former Employee) - Manchester - 13 September 2021
Source all your data outside of working hours of 1.30pm-11pm so you end up sourcing all your data in the morning and calling potential customer all afternoon/evening. So you end up doing mad hours everyday and using your weekends to source your own leads finding the business owners names, whether they fit certain criteria and you’ve got to do this for every lead you want to ring. So if you want to earn good money you can but expect to pull in some mad hours every week
Pros
Pool table break out room is cool
Cons
No life balance whatsoever

Avoid, avoid, avoid
Graduate copywriter (Former Employee) - Manchester - 6 July 2021
The company is totally dominated by sales. Everything is sales. Whilst they try to make out that it's a creative agency with loads of amazing creative talent, internally the only people who matter are the salesmen. Yes men, not people. "Boys club" doesn't even begin to scratch the surface. Management actively enjoys and encourages infidelity. They want family men who drive fancy cars (oh yeah, once you hit a certain seniority you're "encouraged" to buy an expensive car) who sleep around with staff. No joke. Think Mad Men without the talent. You must arrive at a specific time, if you don't, you're punished - and I mean to the minute. There are set break times, again, to the minute. It's like being in school, not to mention the dress code. The pay, unless you're in sales, is dismal compared to other agencies. They target graduates who are desperate to get any job and are willing to take anything. It's a good starter job in that respect, but plan on moving within 6 months if you know what's good. The parties are fun, lavish, vapid, and very well "dusted" if you know what I mean. I met some great people there, but really that has nothing to do with the company itself.
Pros
Works with big brands which looks good on your CV when you apply to a new job
Cons
Too many to list

Head down and work
MEDIA DEVELOPMENT EXECUTIVE (Former Employee) - Manchester - 10 January 2021
Cut throat environment, recruit 15/20 people a month and only 1 stay on at a time. Expect you to work through your lunch and also you have to source your own leads, I was working 13 hour shifts and it still wasn’t good enough
Pros
No
Cons
12 hour days

Not nice ppl to work for.
Dogs body (Former Employee) - Trafford, Greater Manchester - 17 March 2020
I would rather eat my owm head than work at ph media. The sales managers are on a constant power trip and the top sales ppl gave egos as big as planetary systems. I would work here in a gap year as a way of encourgaing someone to find a career they like in order tonnever have to set foot in a place like this

Fast paced and competitive. Sport and music culture orientated
Talent Acquisition Manager (Current Employee) - London - 9 March 2020
During my 4 years at the company I worked in sales, account management and internal recruitment. I managed the internal recruitment for the London office and relocated to the Manchester HQ and have also been sent to the Chicago office as a top performer.
The roles within the company are fast paced and competitive and there is a work hard, play hard culture.
The hardest part of the recruitment roles are managing the recruitment process and managing hiring managers expectations. The most enjoyable part is hiring new talent, being responsible for their development and watching them grow and succeed within the business.
Pros
Long list or company perks, competitive environment, working for global leader
Cons
The overall culture and management styles, lack of HR

Hated it at PHMG, all about selling
Client Support Manager (Former Employee) - Manchester, Greater Manchester - 6 March 2020
They don't care about employees, it is all about them pushing you for sales and getting contracts. I wouldn't recommend a job here unless you like stress and poor pay without prospects.
