Delivery Driver (Current Employee) - Cardiff - 10 September 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedSort Totes n then Load Van. Delivering usually over 100 items n then do Afternoon Route. More Work taken on n Not Given more time to do them. Commute in Van so Costs there. Some Routes harder than others but if your Face Fits your okay. Agency sometimes treated better than Employed Staff
Pros
No Commuting Costs
Cons
Overworked n Under paid

Worst place I've ever worked
Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) - Runcorn, Cheshire - 16 October 2023
From day 1 your just a number to get the work out as quick as possible. Work is put on the line in a hurry. Shelfs and storage never has anything I stock never get holidays when you want them. Pay is the lowest in runcorn. The opened a new phoenix medical in Wakefield but they can't get employees because of how low the pay is your forced to work Sundays even though government guide lines tell you that you can opt out but they don't tell you that work sometimes very demanding but I just got on with it I was of due to being sick and got the sack I was gutted but yet there's people in there who are of for longer times than me and they kept there job. Please avoid this place it has ruid my life at home working there and the pressure of the job and low pay didn't help
Pros
Nothing
Cons
Nothing

Delivery Driver (Current Employee) - London - 3 June 2023
Good atmosphere. Can be a very busy and demanding workplace. One big massive family always a plus. Management are very good they are fair and give everybody the same chances. Fast paced, you must be able to work independently if you can’t this isn’t the job for you
Pros
Work alone no route changes
Cons
Long hours/ poor work life balance

Worked like a dog
Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - Aberdeen - 25 May 2023
You may be lucky and get a good run where you can finish your day on time. Upper management doesn't care as long as you don't complain. Don't expect any help from them unless your face fits or you lick boots. Always running bare bones staff in warehouse so they can save their budget and get a good bonus (typical management) so expect to help out, just because you're gonna work more unpaid hours otherwise.
Pros
The guys on the ground, usually have a good laugh in the mornings, Take work van home so save on fuel costs
Cons
Work more than you should for no extra, what lunch? Timed on everything you do

Warehouse Worker (Former Employee) - Runcorn, Cheshire - 24 January 2023
Yob culture in the Warehouse. Poor Managers. No interest in employee or Health and Safety for employee. Pay a token gesture to employee needs which satisfied there upper management they are doing a good job. Traing extremely poor. HR act interested but have no authority or power.

None
Cons
No value in warehouse employee

Would think twice
Factory Worker (Current Employee) - Salford - 28 November 2022
Not a good company to work for. Seen as just a number and dont really care about your health, well-being or home life. Higher management are very out of touch with reality and all the hard work the workers actually put in. Your thought no better of for working hard and they only care about figures, their bonuses or throwing each other under the bus. Colleagues are good to get on with, they are the ones who make the job worthwhile. Pay is ok, not the best but not the worse either. Hours are ok.

Not great
Warehouse Operative (Current Employee) - portsmouth farlington - 2 November 2022
It's faced paced. However, on specific days they still finish very late. The day shift don't finish all of their work so evening is required to finish it. No matter how late that may be. The management is constantly on peoples backs about pick rates, new people are constantly joining and leaving.
Pros
people are friendly
Cons
very repetitive

13 December 2022Thank you for taking time to leave your feedback, we are sorry to hear you have not had the greatest of experiences with us. Warehouse Operative roles are quite transient by nature which does put pressure on the depots, but we would value listening to any ideas you have that would help us improve.
Unsupportive
Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) - Runcorn - 11 October 2022
management in this place is horrendous, laughable if that. the only way you'll get anywhere in this business if is you are friends with someone high up if not, don't bother worked there for 2 years and got let go because I wanted to go onto a Flexi contract because of university if you are a student stay away absolutely no work-life balance, they don't let you leave when you shift is over and expect everyone to do least 1 hour of over time on the 2-10 shift and won't pay overtime rate until you've done over 36 hours. stay away from this place

Long days . Salaried so overtime is unpaid.
Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire - 16 August 2022
Impossible routes unless you’re one of the chosen few . Expect you to work through break because there is no one in warehouse to sort deliveries.Rarely able to start second run on time waiting for goods upto 1/2 hour after spending break loading van. Add drops to route that are miles away and just say you need to start earlier to accommodate them . Have to return to base in own time if delivery failed or refused.

Gotten worse over the years
Senior Warehouse Operative (Current Employee) - Portsmouth, Hampshire - 15 July 2022
I’ve worked at Phoenix for a decade and I can say from experience, this place isn’t somewhere you should be working. This place used to run really well compared to how it is now. Management, although still useless, tried to make Phoenix better and compared to management now, did a fairly good job. The company made half the warehouse redundant due to the lower volume of work but since covid happened, the warehouse has seen a massive increase. Due to the volume of work, everyone in the warehouse is stressed out to the point where the loyal, well trained employees are leaving because they’re fed up of doing other peoples jobs. We then get more staff joining who are untrained and have no idea how to work the warehouse. We can’t even train the new staff because we don’t have the necessary trained staff nor the time to train them! The past two years has been nothing but stress, anxiety and a complete breakdown in teamwork. Oh yeah, and the pay is rubbish.

It’s a toxic environment and unpleasant work place to be in. If I had another option I’d not of went there. Lack of respect from management. Mafias if ethnic groups like a prison
Pros

Cons
Finishing late. Low payment. No respect. Management lack leaders. Team leaders can’t speak English.

Worst Management I Have Ever Come Across
Production Operative (Current Employee) - Farlington, Hampshire - 14 June 2022
The work is fine, and I'm lucky to be on a shift full of good people, unlike the other shift. Unfortunately the supervisor has no patience and cannot understand why he ends up in arguments with other workers when he causes the troubles himself. This occurs too many times in the workplace.
Pros
Mostly good work colleagues.
Cons
Useless management who will wriggle out of doing their job properly.

Not a good place to work management is shocking at there jobs.
Multi Drop Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - East Kilbride, South Lanarkshire - 25 May 2022
I've worked in a few places in my days but I've never worked in a more shocking place than this they seem to make rules up as they go along rules for different people the management is a total disgrace couldn't run a bath never mind a business I'd urge anyone who even thinks of applying to just don't they Don't respect their workers. Also the training is non-existent.

Wouldn’t waste your time
Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - St Albans - 5 May 2022
The place is setup for friends of friends they have brought friends from overseas to work so they always get priority from the manager. If you like being pushed aside and told you will do one thing then when you arrive to work you have a whole new route. Avoid like the plague.

11 August 2022Thank you for your feedback , we are sorry to hear you felt this way. We endeavor to recruit from all cultures, race, sex and religions, as part of your EDI promise and depots colleagues tend to represent the local community. The routes sometimes have to change due to Customer Orders and Demand. Good luck in your future role.
Warehouse operative
Warehouse Operative (Current Employee) - Runcorn - 5 April 2022
Good company. Managment a bit lost and care just about profit, nice colleagues. Day to day more tasks and no one recognises hard work. Targets hardly achievable.
Pros
Security of job
Cons
Managment

Good bunch of drivers and goods in colleagues.
Multi Drop Delivery Driver (Current Employee) - Norwich - 22 March 2022
Can be long and heavy, boxes and totes. The hardest part of the job is to get management to listen. The most enjoyable part is when you leave the warehouse and get on the road
Pros
You take company van home
Cons
Not allowed to use the van for personal purposes

Physical but total job safety.
FLT Driver/Warehouse Operative (Current Employee) - Birmingham - 18 March 2022
I've worked here for 13 years and can honestly say its the most secure job I've worked at because of the nature of the business. I've worked hard and I do feel I have the respect of senior staff. Whom I get on well with .
Pros
Job security.
Cons
Can be physical

Incompetent Management. No work/life balance.
Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - York, North Yorkshire - 16 March 2022
I have never seen a more incompetent management team anywhere else I have worked. These people are clueless when it comes to the needs of their staff - especially drivers. Training is minimal and it's purely the luck of the draw to be partnered with a driver who actually cares enough to help a new recruit to succeed, though there are few good ones. There is no work/life balance and 52-1/2 hours weekly is really draining. There is a high turnover of drivers for obvious reasons and new recruits frequently decide after a few days that the poor rate of pay is not worth the long working hours and stressful conditions. Unless you are desperate for work, avoid this mob!
