Line leader in Bodmin, Cornwall
on 6 August 2022
A good place to work, and a developing site with loads of investment coming
I started as a line leader at Pilgrims with a background in food manufacture, so far the staff have been really helpful and friendly and I've completed my training in a matter of weeks.there is plenty of support available, and the management seem to want to develop their staff.there are big plans for the site, Tulip let the site go big time and mismanaged it, I should know I had worked there previously but the new pilgrims management team seem to know what they are doing and are making massive improvements, there are new lines and areas opening in the near future.the days are long, there is one half hour tea break, this is hard to get used to at first but it gets easier.

Toxic work environment
People here spend more time chatting about people behind their backs than anything else, especially in the offices. Deeply unprofessional behind closed doors. One rule for upper management and another for everyone else especially regarding absence. Inexperienced managers causing huge problems overall. Pay and benefits aside, workers are treated awfully. Handful of managers are very nice and training team are down to earth genuine people.

Enjoyable at times and can learn about the job role
Although they tell you all wonderful opportunity for yourself and career development, this wasn’t case, the staff team are great but the upper management have different opinions and don’t take time out for staffs well being although the mandatory letter says they are there for support
