Hideous!
Gas, Plumbing and Heating Technician (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 29 August 2022
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedHideous experience, I learnt a lot off my own back. Very stressful and under valued. They choose between being employed and self employed, depending on what suits them. Alright for a young single engineer, but as a married man I had a heart attack and wasn't the first! Be warned, not for the faint hearted!
Pros
Big wage
Cons
Treated like a dog, parking tickets, fuel, constant hounding on the phone. Disloyal.

Copywriter (Current Employee) - Lambeth, Greater London - 7 February 2020
Good place to work with a great PR & Marketing department.
Everyone is very friendly and motivated and the work is varied, there's normally a lot going on (in a good way).
Nice to be part of such an esteemed company with strong family values.

Insights into Pimlico Plumbers
Areas for improvement
- Trust in colleagues
- Inclusive work environment
- Time and location flexibility
Great place to work and develop
Marketing (Current Employee) - London, Greater London - 7 February 2020
I have been at the company for nearly a year and can honestly say it is an incredible business. The family are very much part of it and make you feel you are part of that too. They all work incredibly hard which i must say inspires others to do so too. If you want to work for a place where the management lead by example, this is it.
There is a strong feeling of team and you are encouraged to be creative and contribute to the business strategy. Everyone is approachable and there is a very inclusive feel to the company. Their apprenticeships are second to none and most impressive is the way they support women into the trades.
Everyday is different and you definitely feel supported and valued as an employee. I cant recommend working here enough.

I worked in all the areas of Pimlico, but this was just a 2 week work experience placement. I worked in electrical, plumbing and maintenance and enjoyed all areas

Customer Services
Customer Service Assistant (Current Employee) - Lambeth, Greater London - 30 January 2020
Amazing buzz around the whole building. It can be incredibly busy at times but everyone helps each other and there really is a family feel.
Management are very supportive and actively want you to be the best version of yourself by pushing you to beat your goals (not just career goals, but personal too).
The massages are unreal, most of my friends are very jealous.
Am loving my experience, best company i have worked for!

Worst working experience of my working life.
Finance Assistant (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 21 October 2019
I had a little sense of excitement to work here when I first heard I was successful in my interview.
I was told they have an amazing canteen available 'if needed' along with a very nice looking gym that I'd be allowed to a use anytime free of charge. I'd have my own locker and use of shower facilities available at any time AND regular chances of overtime available - sounds amazing right?
It probably only took about ONE day to realise that this wasn't going to be the place that they 'sell' to you at the beginning.
Yes, they have a canteen, with lovely staff, but what they don't tell you at first is that you pretty much HAVE to use it (you aren't allowed to pay by the way, it gets automatically deducted from your salary each week) as there are no shops close enough to get to in one of you very small breaks. You are not allowed to even bring in your own tea bags, yet they still charge you to use theirs.
Also, other than feeling like a grown school child already because of the uniform you are forced to wear - you have use face recognition to tap in and out, even for your small lunch break. There is not an ounce of faith or confidence shown in any of their employees.
Lunch 'breaks'. You are only allowed a morning 15 minute break, a 30 minute lunch break and then one more 15 minute break towards the latter end of the day. Smart from whoever it was that made that rule because technically you are getting your entitled 1 hour break per day - but in a way where it realistically only allows you to stay in the building and use their services.
Mobile phones - 'Unless you -

Very poor wages as an apprentice
Admin Assistant / Customer Services Executive (Former Employee) - Se1 - 2 September 2019
Very low pay as an apprentice, treated badly when you have healthcare appointments which they don’t want you going too and they throw a strop when you’re unwell and unable to attend work.

Jobs at Pimlico Plumbers
Amazing opertunitys
Quality and Training Manager (Current Employee) - Lambeth, Greater London - 5 July 2019
Before starting my journey with Pimlico, i didnt really know where i was looking to go or what i wanted to do.
I started my journey as an apprentice, which allowed me the opportunity to learn alongside gaining life experience in a real working environment. Since then i have been promoted on 3 different occasions allowing me to progress personally as well as professionally.
Main management are very supportive. The CEO and OD really do care for their staff, hence why they would prefer to invest in current staff as well as new staff. The working environment is very postie and friendly. I have never walked into a new environment and instantly felt welcome.
They provide great incentives, which i have never come across in any other job. Such as; weekly massages, access to state of the art gym and PT sessions, boat partys and christmas work do along with many more. All of the incentives provided are completely free paid for by the CEO.
Pros
free massages, own company gym, personal training sessions, boat party and christmas do.
Cons
dont have any

Worst place you could ever work at, avoid!!!!
Accounts Assistant (Former Employee) - Lambeth, Greater London - 31 May 2019
They falsely advertise job roles just to lure people in. once there you have to sell your soul to them, it feel like you are in the military or school. breaks are timed, you have to put your hand up to ask and go to the toilet!
It is a dictatorship and after 2 weeks of working there you start getting depression and actually worry at night because you know where you are going next day, they force you into overtime and weekend work.
its just horrible and I quit after two weeks and facing the financial burdens I had were better than knowing I have to go there again one more time.
Pros
none
Cons
you will be suicidal

Do not work here!!
Engineer (Former Employee) - Pimlico, Greater London - 3 January 2019
I worked for Pimlico for 18 months as an engineer this company will suck your soul right out if your body.
I worked 4 days and nights solid with only 6 hours sleep and when i asked to go home all they cared about was whos going to cover the next job its only when i said im a danger to other road users and the public they had to let me go home but still insisted for me to cover an SW9 job...
1: Ridiculous hours are expected from you.
2: Poor management.
3: Extortionate van rental rates at £600 a month on vans that are half your age.
4: Told to spend time on jobs by legally ripping people off no matter if there young or old.
5:This company is a revolving door when it comes to people working there.
6:Canteen is a rip off....
7: Charged for every little thing evan pay for your uniform.
8:Very rarely they let you go home when your shift is completed they make you feel like you owe them a favor whilst forgetting you just completed a 13hr shift..
I would advise anyone who wants to work here DONT belive me the grass is greener on the other side.
I know this as i walked out of Pimlico and left the van at the office 3 months ago i suppose i just cracked after 18months of pure headache and stress from the office..
Pros
High end clients
Cons
Poor hours, Poor management, No social life

Soul destroying
Electrician (Former Employee) - Lambeth - 19 November 2018
Terrible place to work - too many engineers with not enough work to go around. If you give a customer a quick honest job your punished by the office and left with no work.
You have to pay for the van £600 each month which increases yearly.
All engineers are on a leaderboard with the highest earners and engineers that do the most overtime are at the top - at the top you get the better jobs / wealthy customers. Basically if you don’t do the overtime or don’t rip customers off your left with the quick jobs etc.
If you want quick money with no outside work life balance , don’t mind being spoken to like a child , don’t mind selling customers work they don’t really need just to make your weeks money up , don’t mind worrying if your going get get enough work each week then this job is for you.
If you value your outside of work life do not join this company.
Pros
Learn a lot due to variety of work.
Cons
Long hours, ego maniac management, paranoia, stress.

Its an ok job to have whilst you look elsewhere
Call Centre Operator (Former Employee) - Lambeth, Greater London - 29 October 2018
Pros
Free gym, christmas lights, christmas party and boat party all paid for, lovely engineers.
Cons
Bullying culture, no progression, no where to get food nearby so you end up spending £40 a week including tea/coffee, no fridge or microwave. Always been spoken to like rubbish from managers, badly fitting uniforms. The hours suck, constantly asked to do overtime and asked why when you say no. Compulsory overtime on weekends with no breaks - is this legal? no one is ever happy there. Having to treat engineers like the are 5 years old. You are not allowed to make friends with engineers or colleagues, if you do they will change your break time. People come and go, new faces everyweek. They make you feel guilty and pressure you to come in when you are ill, you could be on your death bed and they will still expect you to some in. Lots of fake positive reviews on here also!

School environment
Call Centre Operator (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 14 September 2018
Treated like (2nd class citizens. Managers are told monthly to name their weakest. After that the employee are never seen. People are daily shown the door. Not a family oriented business as they like to make out. The family that run the company do not even like one another and it shows. If your faces don’t fit you won’t last a week
Pros
None
Cons
Everything

Poor morals
Plumber (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 3 August 2018
The biggest regret o my working life, they take what they want out your wages. Also you have to sell yourself to the clients and persuade them in doing work they really don’t need so you can fill up your day with work.
The staff that give you work are rude and they question you all the time!
Your meant to be self employed but they only want you working for them and then only!
I’ve worked for many companies but these are the worse.
The only upside is you get to see some really nice places.
Stay away is my advise.
Pros
See some nice places
Cons
Long hours, poor morals and take what they want
