Bad place
This was the most horrible place i have ever work.If you dont speak Polish you will not find place there. I was work 12h shift from 6pm until 6am for almost 1 month. I was never know did im gonna work today, many times we was have 1-2 working days and it was not only me. Almost every person i see there was feel pain most of the time in back or arms because lines are too fast. I met people who work there from 3y and its still too hard to work on this fast lines. If we stop even for little from this lines you will have to clean a lot, even walls.Too many responsibilities for the position of operators, the money we take - checking the packages, packing, daily cleaning (the lines are cleaned several times a day), we helped to fix the machines, including assembly and disassembly. Prepare to lift heavy. You will get 8.72 and if you work like me from 6pm-6am you will get somethime 1.31. sometimes 1.53... Every time different but for the same job and i have payslip to prove
Line Operative in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

An enjoyable place to work
I had 5 enjoyable months working at Pioneer Foods in Peterborough staff and management are helpful and friendly but found most of the people working here at Pioneer Foods Peterborough were from Eastern Block Countries some of which have a very poor command of English and often leads to a breakdown in communication. The thing I would say of anything negative would be as the work is very fast paced on different lines would be they tend to talk behind your back and not to you directly if there is a problem with your line speeds and very quick in dismissing you for this reason.Without a hearing or second chance I worked through an agency and have found them to be exactly the same.

Awful workplace. Management are the major problem
All the management talk to people like dirt. There is no respect there at all. It doesn't matter if you've been there 20 years or 5 minutes, you are treated like dirt. The management are all only in they're positions because they have been there the longest, not because they have the skills to do the job. If a manager or supervisor leaves the job goes to whoever has been there longest. There is no option to go for the job yourself. The place is over ran by families working together which in my opinion should not be allowed. As when it comes to things like overtime or going home early they are always chosen before anyone else. Every chance they get they will try to screw staff over and out of money. You are expected to do overtime which was paid at time and a half, it is now single rate but you are expected to do it for less money. Holidays are 20 days plus bank holidays, yet they expect you to work most bank holidays and you get nothing in return, therefore you lose a days holiday shile other staff are being paid for sitting at home. The amount of people who get a job and leave within a month is unreal. That shows what type of place it is to work.
Multi Drop Driver in Gateshead, Tyne and Wear

Run by drivers, management totally inept. Didnt know from one day to other the run you were on. Kept drivers in warehouse so management could sit in office all day. Had their favourites and were totally out of depth running a team
