Well run SME
Sales & Commercial Manager - Utilities (Former Employee) - Harpenden - 19 June 2019

The most useful review selected by IndeedPlowman Craven is a well run medium sized enterprise.
The executive leadership team may benefit from broader experience outside the world of surveying, however.

Avoid
Junior Surveyor (Former Employee) - London - 9 September 2021
London office is run by commercial managers with no site experience, this is evident in the poor quality of support and logistics. Focus is entirely on profit with unfair deadlines and prevention of training to stop people leaving with more skills.
Pros
Excellent survey team
Cons
Poor management and low salaries

Work well in a team and enjoy a challenge
Survey Technician (Former Employee) - Harpenden, ENG - 22 November 2014
In the survey/engineering side of the business, sometimes the best and only way to learn a new trade is to actually having to get out their and do it! Sometimes, I agree that the best way to learn, is to learn from your mistakes, and the next time you do a similar job, you will be better.
What I have learnt from doing lots of different survey jobs over the last 11 years, is that one of the most important things that the client is looking for with the data that you give them, is the QUALITY of the results. The time it takes you/your team to collate, process the data is also important, but if you rush the job too much becaue you might have a set dealine, I have learnt that this is where you/your team are more likely to make mistakes.
To come back to the office after a day out collecting data etc and then spending time, hours etc, processing the data and then having it checked by management before it get sent off to the client is very rewarding and makes the job both enjoyable and rewarding.
Pros
Senior management/directors treated you as a person and not just a number
Cons
More Training would have been nice.
