Some schemes are super cliquey while others (lone working) are really nice to work at. Some managers are super helpful and supportive while others are less so and want to brush you off

Extremely poor. No support.

What is the best part of working at the company?There isn’t any. No support for staff who go above and beyond in their roleWhat is the most stressful part about working at the company?Additional workload with no support or consideration for the clients. Management more interested in getting outcomes whether these are achieved or not. Manipulating outcomes on paper to ensure the bids are successful and to feed back to government agencies What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Colleagues on the ground where fab but the management team were unable to give clear consistent guidance to staff and were more bothered about results rather then what the team were up against with their clients/ workload. What is a typical day like for you at the company?Flat out in order to meet demand of job. Lunch was on the go with no time to stop an relax for half hour

Bad management

Management at pobl in Trethomas are very unprofessional and not interested in some staff if your face fits you will be ok. Staff turn over is terrible and alot of lazy people who get away with alot .This place definitely needs new management the ones they have are not competant and need to go.

Good support from Collegues

Since starting working with Pobl my self confidence has grown. I work with a lovely team who has the patience to answer all my questions. I have been offered all different learning courses and feel very supported. My work days are different everyday as I am dealing with different clients and they all have different support needs.

Clients can be very challenging, but as long as you're thick skinned you'll be just fine. Majority of staff are amazing and management truly do care.

What is the best part of working at the company?It’s great to have a manager who cares about me as a person and team who care about the clients they support. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?There is always demands on time and being on call takes over your whole week for not a huge amount of pay. (it’s not changed in years)What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Amazing. Managers get passionate about work life balance and welll being. There’s a lot of opportunity to continually improve. What is a typical day like for you at the company?There is no typical day but there’s a lot of time in front of a laptop.

What is the best part of working at the company?I'm kind of new too this type of work but the company has been good at education and also helping me interact with the customers. What is the most stressful part about working at the company?There aren't any real stressors it's all about gaining experience. Rewarding, very enjoyable and well paid

The Pobl family really look after you. The work is immensley rewarding and varied and no two days were the same. It very often didn't feel like work and the pay was very good for this loine of work, especially with sleep in and overtime bonuses.

Good Company

Pobl are a fantastic company to work for- they offer great benefits and pay brackets are fairly decent considering the sector we work in. In comparison to other homelessness charities Pobl offer the highest pay bracket. Pobl are a very supportive company and offer a range of flexibility- and will support their staff wherever possible. Pobl have great values as a company which I believe help make them the great company that they are today! Pobl will always try to accommodate their staff as much as possible, and offer a wide range of training opportunities! I'm really happy working for Pobl and have found them to be so supportive with different areas of flexibility that I need and upper management have stood with me in very difficult times throughout my journey. Anyone would be lucky to work for an amazing company!

Friendly and Welcoming, Challenging and Rewarding

Pro'sHolidays, Sick Pay, Rewarding And Job Satisfaction, Excellent Training Programes, Progression To Move On, Project Workers and Management Always On Hand And Very Supportive, Area Manager Visits The Project On A Regular Basis And Always Makes Time For Staff. Excellent Well Being Team, Good Pension Scheme. 45p Per Mile, ConsShift Patterns Not The Best, Long Hours On Weekends, No Tidy Break Area Where You Can Sit And Eat Your Food.

Productive and busy

Amazing place love working here very supportive. I’ve learned loads working with the management are amazing, a typical day consist of going in making tea checking up on everyone and getting tasks done

This company will do anything to avoid spending money.

Equipment in the care home I work at will break and it takes months to be fixed. After speaking to the contractors when they come in it’s only because POBL receives a quote and doesn’t reply to it for a while. Dishwasher in main kitchen broken for months as of writing, dryers in laundry broken for weeks resulting in them being dried in a household dryer that obviously doesn’t do the job. This results in a very negative work atmosphere at times.Payslips are a joke, they don’t show they hours or rate you worked at for the month just what you are paid and deductions. If you are paid wrong you can pay a fee to have it corrected quickly or you can wait a month to have it on your next payday at no cost. I have seen co workers paid £150+ under.Only upside is the seemingly low turnover rate, it’s a secure job but constantly frustrating.

Learned a lot, very rewarding and client focused. Unprofessional, highly problematic and negative.

Loved working with clients and the job itself. The role was reasonably flexible with good benefits such as discounts, annual leave, sick pay etc. The role was very informal and rewarding when supporting clients face-to-face. Also helped to build confidence and meet some amazing people. However, I felt I had to leave the role due to the following issues:-Very low pay considering the complexity of work and potentially dangerous situations-Lack of training in various essential topics (e.g. mental health, de-escalation, GDPR)-Lack of progression, and inadequate communication from management-Conflict, gossip and negative workplace can be very demoralising and affect mental wellbeing negatively-Issues being ignored by management and HR, to the detriment of staff, clients and the project as a whole-Unprofessionalism and lack of boundaries makes it difficult to navigate through tasks-Overall disjointed and divisive team, scapegoating and no management control or support in the long-term
