Great team
Once employed, other job positions are rarely internally advertised first. I feel this limits progression and you remain stuck in your original post Consultations occur almost every 2years making you worried about losing your job

Stability and security
I feel proud to work for the council. After 6 years, I am a happy employee, and feel strongly that the council has a caring ethos and after 30+ years in a corporate environment, I am settled in my career path at the council.I think the council tries hard too, to do their best for Portsmouth residents and our beautiful seafront, parks, etc.Salaries are good, a council pension is offered, and there are many benefits and discounts offered to employees working for the council.
Social Support Worker in Portsmouth, Hampshire
on 6 February 2022
Supportive and enjoyable people to work along side.
I worked in social support for 2 years and I can honestly say it was the best job I have ever had. If I hadn't moved county I would still have been there. It can be stressful and fast paced but with a huge amount of support and back up from all the team and management were beyond fabulous

family friendly and flexible working available
PCC overall is a great place to work. Whilst this would depend on your jo role and servicd, in general PCC supports flexible working and trying to accommodate other responsibilities in your personal life such as childcare
