Post Office Counter Clerk in Bristol
on 27 June 2022
Stressful but good pay and benefits
Very stressful and understaffed. If you work for a Crown office then the pay and benefits are really good but most staff have been in the job their whole lives so it is very cliquey and a bit "knowledge is power" so they are very set in their ways and not very helpful. Very target driven so you must be good at sales. Working conditions are not good as they are very penny pinching- bring your own pen, calculator, sellotape and stapler because they won't pay for them! Ditto coffee and milk, mugs and cutlery! Very shabby!

Nationwide Opportunities In All Work Areas
This is a typical large organisation with branches across the country and management locations also around the country. There are opportunities in all areas i.e. financial, property services, human resources, customer services etc. etc. Once you are in the organisation you can apply for lots of roles in other parts of the company. The pay is good and so are the pension benefits. There are people from all walks of life from "salt of the earth" types to graduate entrants so there will always be someone who you can feel comfortable with.A great place to work with lots of opportunities to progress.

Poor place to work.
Poor Management. Horrific pay. indoor cemetery kind of energy. Lost part of my sanity working here. Some of the customers are very friendly and nice and would make your day.

Supported me when I left the services massively
I left the military never having a interview. The HR was brilliant, the CEO and the leadership team were really busy but would always chat if needed. It gave me a purpose and helped me transition into being a civilian.

Competitive professional work
Should be very perfect in monitary transactions. Good job like professional banking. Should be careful while doing moneygram, withdrawals, deposits there might be maximum chance of doing unexpected mistakes.so we have to be careful each and every minute. Once we habituated to the job. It would be so nice
