Doesn't matter how hard you work, you'll never get anywhere in this company. Working at least the work of 2 staff if not more. Managers don't really care what you have to say and can be discriminatory towards you for anything they don't like.
I worked here as an agency worker for a few years, I could do most of the jobs in here all ways hit the very hard hourly targets and never on the sick. The jobs were all ways given to the favourites even when they were all ways on the sick The team leader I had was just a pervert who never spoke to any of the men and constantly drooling over the women. Probably the worst place I've ever worked
Only just better than the dole
Poor management arrogant team leaders and a cell leader whose mother probably hates him
Management in-cohesive, uninformed and unable to work together. Senior team each covering their own backs which filtered down to every level below, making junior management too scared to raise issues, at threat of their jobs . Most working up job levels over several years but with no formal leadership training. Dismissive and unapproachable mostly, no training budget to speak of and very little prospects for advancement.
Good working hours available, staff canteen, clean site
Untrained, immature management, lack of funds or advancement, out dated work practices. Personal grievances prevailed, disrespectful and threatening culture from some senior managers.
Manager is a bully, rude ,ignorant, and talks to you like sommat off bottom of his shoe no respect whats so ever for his staff members high turn around of new staff as they leave after a week or 2 and when asked why its always over the manager Been reported many times bit nothing ever gets done its a shammbles stay away
PPG Shildon is an absolute joke, if you best buds with the cell leaders or team leaders you can get away with spending your shift hiding in the locker room, anyone else your going to have to work harder to cover for the ones who won't work! The factory has a two tier pay structure which basically means anyone one the lower tier will recieve £400+ less a month less but will be put on a one man line being pushed by a cell leader who could only be compared to hitler to fill 600 kits per shift while a tier one employee gets a nice easy job of 40 adhision promoter! The factory has had serious incidents regarding fires and explosions which have all been covered up by the management, someone will get killed here one day (cover ups are ok as they are all in the masons) none of which has been reported to the HSE AVOID THE PLACE DO NOT WORK HERE!!!!! WORST JOB IVE EVER HAD, MADE WORSE BY POOR MANAGEMENT, A CULTURE OF LAZY ARSELICKERS BEING HIGHLY REGARDED WHILE THOSE WHO ACTUALY WORK ARE TREAT LIKE SH!TE
Terrible management, always required to cover at other branches, lone working, meant to have 1hour lunch brakes unpaid but never get them so basically you’re working time you’re not getting paid for. Having to open and close branches and not getting paid extra for it, U like management who think it’s ok to arrive late or leave early But still get paid for time they haven’t worked. This company is a total joke.
Busy days, semi continuous process requiring good operator skills and attention. Typical of many foreign owned British business. Hardest, but most rewarding was daily contact with shop floor. Good work colleagues, strong camaraderie. Worked on long term contract and wouldhave been happy to stay.
The job itself is good, ultimatley all the bad reviews about lone working, not getting breaks, trying to do the job of 3 men because the company run on the bare minimum staff. Working extra hours a d not getting them back as leui time or paid for them are all true. Customers are great and i have made a lot of new friends but all the company seem to care about is the amount of profit they can show the bosses in america
I worked her for 2 years as a team leader and was probably the worst place I have ever worked in my life to date. I was given promises of progression and support which were never provided during my time. The management within the company are all bone-idle and have no idea how to run a company and treat staff. If you question there ideas you will be pushed out in anyway they can.
no designated job role until arrival and assigned to you in a school boyish fashion at beginning of shift by supervisor , some managers were approachable when available, SOP's available and had to by signed off for all individual parts of the job requirements as part of a very high health & safety requirement
