Welcome to the company page of Practice Plus Group (formerly known as Care UK Healthcare). As the UK’s largest independent provider of NHS services across 111, out of hours, GP Practices, Prison Healthcare, elective surgery hospitals as well as Diagnostic and MSK services, we can offer a wide variety of careers within the healthcare sector.

Message from our CEO, Jim Easton

As Chief Executive I’m proud everyday to see the work our colleagues carry out providing excellent care to patients and communities across the country – and in those services that support that delivery. We are committed to quality, to being a great partner to the NHS, and being a great place to work.

We are a really diverse organisation in lots of ways. Firstly in the services we provide – undertaking more than 80,000 operations a year in our hospitals, answering 3 million calls a year in our 111 and GP services and delivering care to thousands of prisoners with often complex needs. We do that in many different locations around the country. And we strive to encourage and build a diverse workforce, bringing the strengths of different experiences, professions and cultural backgrounds together.

Over and over again when staff join us they say they really enjoy the ability to deliver the care or service they were trained for, to innovate to improve what we do and to work in friendly, positive teams in an organisation that doesn’t have the feel of a big bureaucracy.

Our Mission

We have built our mission, vision and values with our colleagues across the organisation – it really means something to us:

Access to Excellence

Our Vision

We strive to practice exceptional healthcare every day, growing responsibly so that we can help more people. Our services are chosen and trusted by patients and NHS commissioners, and are easily available to all, driven by innovation and proudly provided by expert colleagues working together as a team.

If this sounds like the sort of place you would like to work then we would be delighted to hear from you, either in response to an advertised job or more generally. We have superb teams and are a positive and growing organisation delivering outstanding care – come and join us.

Primary Care Nurse in Acton, Greater London
on 9 September 2023
Medication orientated
Job involved lots of high pressure medication administration with very much secondary attention paid to health care of the inmates. Lack of officers can make work difficult. Some management have no regard to the pressures on the wings and are only interested in targets, but the more junior managers are often good people.

Nice place to work at
PPG is a busy and fast workplace with a lot of structure layers as expected due to the size. Good benefits, good communication , strong leadership and overall cultural inclusion.

Interesting, productive and friendly
Really enjoyed the work interaction with patients, staff and work colleagues. Long shifts ,half hour lunch, finishing later than shift and then needing to stock up and clean before the next day.Sometimes it was taken for granted that you would stay ,would have been nice to be asked if you were able to stay longer.Loved my job there, bit more relaxed than in NHS hospital.

Pay needs to be better
Training was ok but needs to be improved. Pay was low for what the job is. Relaxed break room for breaks, vending machines, free drinks. Was able to take breaks when you wanted
Health Advisor in Ipswich, Suffolk

Where do I begin
Very stressful and fast paced. Pay is sometimes miscalculated. Management are overbearing and not the nicest. Pay should be more for the amount of work you have to do. Breaks are minimum and get spend on just going to the toilet. Clinicians are lovely and helpful but supervisors not so much
