Medication orientated
Primary Care Nurse (Former Employee) - Acton, Greater London - 9 September 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedJob involved lots of high pressure medication administration with very much secondary attention paid to health care of the inmates. Lack of officers can make work difficult. Some management have no regard to the pressures on the wings and are only interested in targets, but the more junior managers are often good people.

Nice place to work at
HR Operations Manager (Former Employee) - Reading, Berkshire - 16 September 2023
PPG is a busy and fast workplace with a lot of structure layers as expected due to the size. Good benefits, good communication , strong leadership and overall cultural inclusion.

Interesting, productive and friendly
Registered Nurse (Former Employee) - Devizes - 7 September 2023
Really enjoyed the work interaction with patients, staff and work colleagues. Long shifts ,half hour lunch, finishing later than shift and then needing to stock up and clean before the next day. Sometimes it was taken for granted that you would stay ,would have been nice to be asked if you were able to stay longer. Loved my job there, bit more relaxed than in NHS hospital.
Pros
Free parking
Cons
Long busy day

Pay needs to be better
Health Advisor (Former Employee) - Suffolk - 14 August 2023
Training was ok but needs to be improved. Pay was low for what the job is. Relaxed break room for breaks, vending machines, free drinks. Was able to take breaks when you wanted

Where do I begin
Health Advisor (Former Employee) - Ipswich, Suffolk - 6 August 2023
Very stressful and fast paced. Pay is sometimes miscalculated. Management are overbearing and not the nicest. Pay should be more for the amount of work you have to do. Breaks are minimum and get spend on just going to the toilet. Clinicians are lovely and helpful but supervisors not so much
Pros
Free pizza
Cons
Short breaks

Left after 8 weeks
NHS 111 Clinical advisor (Former Employee) - Plymouth - 28 July 2023
The training is incredibly mentally taxing. When you finally finish hitting all the exams and the audits your again thrown in to an expectation of hitting audits which are subjective to the auditors thoughts. Taught in training one way and expected to work in another. I don't agree with staff with a non medical background no coaching training , listening and auditing calls new staff calls, or even working the support line. There is a lack luster approach to professionalism in that office. Ive never worked in an enivroment so toxic, everyone knows everything there's no privacy/ confidentiality, Out of a group of 6 none stayed. Continuing high turnover rate, staff excuse this by saying that people don't know the job, I disagree. As someone from a medical background with triage experience was disappointed to see how calls are handled, staff continually repeat themselves to satisfy their audits, I did not see a patient centered model , it's task centered. Expecting clinical advisors to do the full health advisor training under staff who have no medical background was degrading. Constantly told to forget My medical training , and just pretend I know nothing. Every thing I did was wrong, i didnt feel respected or listened to , even when I left the owness was on me not being resilient enough and needing more telephone experience. It was a far cry from the supportive trainers I had in the beginning of the role.. In additional to all this pay is often an issue for all staff, payslips don't arrive in advance, and often staff chase for the correct pay resulting in an additional -

Fab job for some one needing pastime hours to work around the family
Coordinator assistant (Former Employee) - Nuneaton - 15 July 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? I enjoyed my time at practice plus. I only gave it up due to wanting more permanent roll.as it was on bank contract. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? If the call backs are done in time especially on Bank Holiday weekends. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Really nice work environment. Staff are friendly and try and gelpmeach other out. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Week day evenings are pretty chilled. Saturdays and Sundays can be a little stressful but everyone pulls together

Left after 4 weeks
111 Health Advisor (Former Employee) - Plymouth - 13 July 2023
This was the worst job decision I made. 4 weeks of training and very little of that training prepares you for the monotonous robotic questions you ask callers. Ops often give you the wrong advice - why would you want to ask someone if they were still trapped at the scene 4 days after they had an injury?! You're told your call should not take more than 10 minutes, that's ok if you're dealing with toothache, but not great when you have an elderly person who is scared, hasn't spoken to anyone all day and is adamant they do not want to go to hospital. Toilet breaks are monitored. There is no dress code allowing some people to look like they've come straight from the beach. Most of the team leaders are ok but felt they were stats driven, which to a degree removes the quality. If I could turn back time with the knowledge I have now I would never have applied.
Pros
Overtime rates are good
Cons
Stats driven, poor training

Poor Company Avoid At All Costs
GP (Former Employee) - Midlands - 4 July 2023
Most awful company I have worked for. They treat their staff like dogs unless your part of the management clique. Management have no morals and behave like dogs on heat. The company is an utter disgrace-they win contracts but can’t honour what they say they’re going to do and it’s the patient that suffers. They expect you to work miracles and don’t care about your home or family life. I will never work for them again . Despicable company.

Toxic place to work
Staff rotas (Former Employee) - Exeter, Devon - 14 May 2023
Awful place to work. I’ve worked in several different establishments before coming to PPG, and have never experienced the level of unprofessionalism that I did here. Managers have favourites. You’re ok if your face fits. But if it doesn’t, you’re treated as an outcast and things are deliberately done to make life difficult for you. I was a witness to this many times when certain clinicians wanted to book shifts, but they were declined as the manager didn’t like them, but someone else whom the manager liked was accepted. Awful micromanagement. You’re not trusted to get on with the work you’re set. Given unrealistic deadlines and mixed messages as to what priority certain tasks should take, then publicly humiliated in front of workmates if you make any errors. My mental health suffered a huge set back whilst working for PPG.
Pros
Some genuinely nice people
Cons
Cliquey environment with managers, public humiliation when make a mistake, no encouragement, toxic managers who create toxic environments

Not a happy place to work
Pharmacy (Former Employee) - Buckinghamshire - 13 May 2023
I started working in prisons after spending time in community roles. The job gave me a good grounding in a prison environment and I have learned how to work with many different people! Made some good friends however sadly I cannot recommend the company due to the poor management and culture of bullying. I saw and experienced this including by managers. Issues were not resolved and certain staff broke rules constantly but got away with it. It became a highly toxic place to work. Staff went off sick or left. The work ethic was poor with a cliquey environment. There were some staff who cared, but others including managers were entirely dismissive of both staff and prisoners. Training was about ticking boxes and there was pressure within the team which frequently resulted in unprofessional behaviour. I enjoyed providing a good service and was resilient, but many had no pride in their work. I now work at a different site within prisons and don't dread going to work.
Pros
Some great team members
Cons
Bullying was rife

Pros

Cons

awful place to work with awful management
advisor (Former Employee) - Southall, Greater London - 2 May 2023
save yourself the job application and don't bother working for an establishment that enables a toxic work environment with a clique-y and cult like management. They all group together and gossip about their staff and you will get little to no assistance in the role. Alongside confusing and misleading training. None of them truly know what theyre doing and in such a critical role that needs hyper vigilant and professional people you're instead left with an unprofessional and high school like environment full of gossip and child like conversations. Be prepared to also have management form against you, never been in such a cold and hostile environment with certain senior members unable to even hide their dislike for you. It's truly mind blowing.

Strict not very nice supervisors
Health Advisor (Former Employee) - Ipswich, Suffolk - 26 April 2023
Supervisors are extremely strict. If you’re even 30 seconds late from your break they make sure you hear about it. Whenever you’d need help from them they would sound condescending.

Decent Job for students and call centre enthusiasts. Expect micro management and favouritism from the management. Pros - overtime rates and shift flexibility
