Was really good working for Pret, until being made redundant, straight after maternity leave (thanks very much!) I have covered different areas in different shops all over London, so I have learnt a lot. There are very high standards and team members are asked to strictly follow all of them, so sometimes they could feel frustrated and overwelmed. Working in management team was quite difficult, as our bonus was depending on reaching targets that were higher and higher every year. Your contracted 42h as manager were more like 50/60 hours per week ( extra hours not paid). Some area/group managers were really demanding having no respect for your personal life.
Free lunch (before) ; career development ; good training
Very high standards to follow ; working at fast pace; extra hours not paid (as manager)
From the minute you work in till the minute you finish you aren’t allowed to stop while remaining falsely happy in front of the customers. There was never enough time to complete cleaning duties properly and all you were told every time was to make time. This whilst making products serving customers as when the shop closed you had 1/2 an hour to finish everything. The kitchen had to be cleaned by 2pm yet were still expected to make sandwiches etc up till the end
Free lunch bonus which became harder and harder to attain
Long hours, unappreciated especially by the area manager. Never feeling good enough
I work for Pret 10 years. Is a good place to work but you need to work in fast pace. If you are hard working person you have potential to grow in company very fast. Management is very helpful and they quickly spot your talent. There is lots of good things to say about Pret, however can become a stressful place if you don't keep up to your targets :)
As an assistant AMK I was contracted to 42.5 Hours per weeks , but the reality we were all doing 50+ hours, week in week out. the extras hours are unpaid and not declared ( ghost labour) and if you complaint you're a trouble maker and and you will get left out of future promotion.Pret has reached it peak and now it's just falling apart.
Team discount ( gold card 50%)
Gangs like culture.
I loved working for Pret, sadly challenging times during Covid-19, meaning lots of redundancies. I won't score on that because I don't think it's fair. The company before this 'plandemic' had amazing benefits, could always grown within company. Of course you get good and bad days.

Too much pressure working there , company expects you to do all your job within the time you are schedule but it is impossible , you will end up working hours for free, no work life balance at all , they have he mistery shipper but it is all a fake thing you can not control , the standards are so high the only thing it will drive is you stress everyday . Don't work there .
Extra hours not paid
The team I worked with was amazing, all very hard working individuals, highly educated (Bachelor Degrees) just working in Pret as a way to self finance their life in UK. The company has very clear standard and procedures and it is easy to reinforce them within the teams. However management tends to have a patronising approach to employee, and a customer service way that request people to show a "fake" happiness.
• Educating and empowering the team to embrace the company culture and mission statement • Analysing productivity and performance data and implanting operational strategies to optimise performance • Personally accountable for financial and administrative procedures • Managing a culturally diverse team of 25 employees • Compiling daily report analyses and regularly presenting analysis reports to Head Office
