High turnover, low pay, no overtime pay
Team Member (Former Employee) - London North, Greater London - 7 September 2023
They promote new people because the turnover is so high they can't keep up getting new people into positions. I worked with three managers on one year. The team leader worked as manager without stepup pay. Pret is undoubtabtly the worst company to work for. Don't even apply. You will work for free and regret it.
Cons
Exploitation

Worse experience
Team Member (Former Employee) - Shoreditch High Street, Greater London - 29 August 2023
I was working in Shoreditch high street, and they don't care if you are new or not they will expect you to work like a machine. They will give you lot of work and if its not completed in your working hour then they will not pay for the over time and in my scenario I worked for 1hr extra everyday. stressful job they cannot manage or they just don't care about their staff. The management is rude. I will never recommend anyone even someone is my enemy 😅.
Pros
Free lunch
Cons
Unpaid overtime

Fun but stressful
Team Member - Part Time (Former Employee) - Manchester, Greater Manchester - 27 August 2023
There's always a lot of people coming and always a big queue at the doors. Quite stressful especially if you don't get along with your team. If you do then even those stressful times can be fun

Good & not so good
Team Member (Former Employee) - Waterloo, Greater London - 25 August 2023
This place is decent if you are interested in a first time job with a good pay. However it is very hard work, managers are awful and you’re responsible for a lot. Expect to be overworked with a small break

Productive but l stressful
Team Member (Former Employee) - Brighton, East Sussex - 31 July 2023
Working here was fun in terms of meeting new people and developing connections with the whole team! The pay is very good and hours are reasonably flexible However it’s very stressful to work here at times due to understaffing, minimal understanding from management, and extremely busy most of the time.

Fun workplace
Team Member (Current Employee) - Hammersmith, Greater London - 24 July 2023
8 hrs shift but too many deadlines, you have to work extremely hard.Job is quite easy but very repetitive work. Weakly pay is great but you earn the minimum wage.

Overall negative experience
Team Member - Full Time (Former Employee) - Glasgow, Glasgow - 18 July 2023
Lacking of a work/life balance, expected to work more than 8 shifts in a row. It’s all work, work, work, and if you can’t keep up, your out. Too many deadlines to keep on top of, WAY too serious for a coffee shop.

Stressful
Team Member (Former Employee) - Manchester - 30 May 2023
Manager is nice but team leader is rude; always telling me faster faster faster but did not indicate me how slow I am. That's the main point made me stressful and feeling useless. After discussed with manager, I think if team leader was follow standard to train new staff then it would be another story.
Pros
Free lunch, co-worker friendly
Cons
understaffed

Corporate
Team Member (Former Employee) - London. UK - 25 May 2023
General managers are quitting left and right! They are the new Mcdonalds with rubbish quality, just with a different interior and fancier claims. Severely understaffed in all shops, upper managment only cares about upselling, health and wellbeing of their staff is always lowest priority. Avoid like the plague!
Pros
No positives
Cons
Money, they don't pay for extra work.

Great place to work, with some but‘s
Team member to AMK and all in between (Former Employee) - Various locations around London - 29 April 2023
It was my 1st job in the uk, it was a great time. (5years). Teams where always great and lots of opportunities if you want the step up. But easily left alone if you where happy in the position you where. But not everyone is made for the hospitality, early starts, sometimes long shifts, lots of pressure to complete the production. Overall would recommend.
