Poor it’s now automated
Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire - 14 November 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedAutomation ruined this job, lots of time doing ‘hygiene’ as there was no work redundancy was obvious as soon as they built it. Very tedious work to be done stood at a bench all day scanning over over again will make you bored after 5 minutes
Pros
Decent shifts
Cons
Tedious work

Fun
Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire - 16 November 2023
Great pay and work place. Many opportunities to progress in other areas within the workplace. 12 hour shifts 4 on 4 off. Be prepared to be on your feet for full shif.

What you've heard about warehouses is true
Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) - Sheffield - 7 August 2023
They don't care about you turnover is massive, hard work expected, wages sneakily shaved by lowering pay in first and last hour of shift injuries likely in stressed warehouse environment
Pros
Long unsociable hours
Cons
Overpriced canteen

It’s ok
QA (Former Employee) - Manchester, Greater Manchester - 2 July 2023
Fun place to work but can be better still everything can be better, management can be and do better. A very fast paced environment and only the strong survive

Horrible workplace
Packer (Former Employee) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire - 15 May 2023
The worst place you could ever ever ever decide to work for. Treat you extremely unfairly. Very unsafe workplace in terms of safety and also mentally challenging

Overall not the best place to work
Picker/Packer (Former Employee) - South Yorkshire - 26 April 2023
Pros: choice of night shifts/day shifts fair pay for night shifts Cons: long hours walking for long periods of time management isn’t great High targets to meet 30 minutes brake

Demanding but fun job!
Picker/Packer (Former Employee) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire - 24 April 2023
Work itself was intense and had targets to meet, but pay was fair and work was relatively straightforward. Managers help you a lot and motivate you well.

Absolutely rubbish
Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) - Sheffield - 25 February 2023
Was only there for one month and my manager was always having a go at me for not hitting the targets for picking. I would not work for them again, even if the pay was doubled

Not a Good Place
Warehouse Operative (Current Employee) - Sheffield - 1 November 2022
during my second week of working, it was all good. However, since the company is moving towards automation, they start sending people back home and cancelled our shift in short notice. A lot of people already arrived at work and suddenly were asked to go back due to low amount of work.

Was hired just have to my shifts cancelled
Order Picker (Former Employee) - Sheffield - 27 October 2022
As soon I was hired and finished my training the following week my shift was cancelled twice after hiring 25 of us why hire us if theirs no work for us was sent home early one of the days and my first week wouldn’t recommend if you have bills to pay

Run if you can
Stock Control Assistant (Former Employee) - Sheffield - 9 August 2022
One of the worst company that I worked in my life, most of the team leaders especially if you are part of outbound team they don't care about you. HR time is a joke in this company. Majority of the superiors treat you like you are nothing, the feeling is like you are in prison. Only work there if you really need.
Pros
None
Cons
Depressing

Grueling work
Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) - United Kingdom - 4 August 2022
Company with truly unreachable targets, people who change constantly, managers who do not control the staff and who do not care in the least about your health unless you have friends or sick notes to change departments. Inadequate picking and packing. Absurd timing, long shifts, short breaks, an anxious, sometimes depressive environment. If you plan to work for a month or so it is ideal, otherwise look for something else. The pay is decent compared to the hours you work.

Stressful workplace.
Returns Operative (Former Employee) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire - 21 July 2022
Worked at PLT through their agency Staffing Match, I would honestly only work for them if you're desperate. There's no job security, because all the hierarchy are bothered about are the KPI targets, if you don't hit them, give it a week or two and they'll get rid of you (High turn over of staff). Team leaders constantly on their phones, zero help from them, only time they show interest is when you're behind on your KPI.

Not too bad placetowork
First two shifts are induction days easy in a classroom with a quick tour warehouse. First few days off picking and your feet are killing by end of shift but been informed you get used to it. There is nothing hard about the job just very repeatative.
Pros
Nothing difficult about the job
Cons
Loads of walking

Fun workplace
Customer Service Advisor (Former Employee) - Burnley, Lancashire - 31 March 2022
I work nights and feel the work life balance is great as I get 4 days off. Targets are easy to hit and room for progression within the company with a supportive team.

Expecting a lot but paying less
Picker (Former Employee) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire - 21 March 2022
They have very high targets which are impossible to achieve. Also, I have' t been paid for a week of work, and nobody from HR or managers helped. Avoid!!!

The set up for picking is crazy
Picker (Former Employee) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire - 19 March 2022
I didn't find the job hard really, just a bit daft set up for the pickers. You're like a boomerang , * example * just when you get back near the a aisle you get sent back to T etc. I wasn't tall enough to reach the top shelves with the small ladder on trolley. Luckily I made a friend with a young man who helped me. Managers never bothered me.
Pros
Not too big a place
Cons
No public transport from near the building to the station.

Worst place I ever worked
Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire - 2 March 2022
Got fired into 7 days of my training. I had down time that had improved but they show that people are just number’s . Would not recommend to anyone, not at all.

Zero communication between all parts of the company
Warehouse Operative / Order Picker (Former Employee) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire - 1 March 2022
The staff in the green high vis are usually the reason people stay working here as most of the orange high vis wearers think they own the world (gone power mad)
Pros
You can be left alone to get in with work
Cons
No communication and you are litterally just a number.

Awful
Picking (Former Employee) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire - 28 February 2022
Avoid at all costs. Long hours, poor pay and no work/ life balance. Your belongings will be stolen. Staff get treated like cattle, they have no incentive to treat staff well as for every 1 one person that leaves they could hire 50 more by the end of the work day. One of the worst places I’ve ever worked.
Pros
Nothing
Cons
Everything

Very long hours
Warehouse Picker (Former Employee) - Sheffield, South Yorkshire - 17 February 2022
Enjoyed working in the warehouse although 12 hour shifts are too long and tiring, only lasted a few days until I had to leave because my feet hurt that bad and it was too far away.
Pros
Good pay
Cons
Long hours
