Usually understaffed, anti-social hours

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Very few people work this job out of choice... long anti-social hours, early starts and late finishes, apathetic managers always changing location. Little english spoken in the back of house usually.

Buon Mbiente lavorativo un po meno gli orari lavorativi

Buon ambinte lavorativo, unica pecca sono gli orari, difficile conciliare il lavoro con la vita privata. Pagamenti PUNTUALISSIMI

I had very bad experience with all managment

What is the best part of working at the company?Nothing at all long hours as a Manager using us as a slaves What is the most stressful part about working at the company?Everything was very stressful, short off staff What is the work environment and culture like at the company? There is no culture they close the restaurant and they didn't inform us they just shut the door and all of us lost the jobs

Overload

Always short of staff. Low salary for Management role. Never paid for overtime. No breaks for food for managers due to being by yourself during the middle of the day shift.Attached to work email on your private phone so no day off on your actual day off due to phone calls, messages, emails which everyone wants response asap.

Pros

Free Staff food

Cons

Working with less people due to lower labour cost

I would not recommend

It’s the same as any other job in the hospitality family it has it’s difficulties but I would never work with the company again. They would call us 30 minutes before our shift and tell us it’s not very busy and they would cancel our shifts not caring about us and our needs as individuals.

Role was good, most management was not

No training given yet expected to know everything and was told off if I didn’t. Constantly being moaned at instead of being supported, for a place promoting well-being, I had high anxiety before attending my shift. The job role itself I really enjoyed, I liked engaging with customers and having positive conversations and giving good customer service, I like being busy so did not mind it being fast pace.Pay is good as well as benefits tips were good.

Pros

Free food on 5+ hour shift

Cons

No support/training

Long and stressful. If you value your mental health don't work here

The hours are very long it's constant overtime. The management are disrespectful, controlling, and never take responsibility. All staff are spoken to like date. My time there I was underpaid and underappreciated. If you value your mental health, then do not work here!!!

Pros

Worst experience of my life

What is the best part of working at the company?Pay rate is definetly good. Overall for waitrer and waitress, the tips are that good that can earn like a manager or even moreWhat is the most stressful part about working at the company? The food takes always ages. Is not a fast food, but the procedures are awful and the number of staff in the kitchen is always a struggle. Being a manager I was forced to spend most of my days in the kitchen because of the low staff wage allowed. It is, honestly a super fake Italian restaurant. It does not have anything of Italian. No one recipe is Italian. Just the name. Most of products are low quality. Honestly it was a nightmareWhat is the work environment and culture like at the company? In the months I worked for Prezzo I was told so many lies from my managers. I was lucky to have a nice team in store and i made few friends. I was trying to help other restaurants in the area and made few friends within the company, but when the company is not working properly or doesn't know how to work, is easy to loose people. Did not enjoy at allWhat is a typical day like for you at the company?Starting earlier without even letting the company know, because it was not allowed to go in early (???). Not enough time to set up the restaurant, but anyway lots of iffice staff and floor things all together to make sure the restaurant was going to operate normally. While doing things customers are coming in and with no staff was "funny" to deal with delivery and issues and maintenance, all at the same time.. always. Few month and every day some technical -

Stessful, angry kitchens

What is the best part of working at the company?Nothing , chefs are lazy , front of house disrespectful, and management very rude , always dead as too expensive What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The way chefs and managers and front of house just throw things at you even when they are not busy , and very disrespectful if your English, all speak their own language during shift , and smoke to much , and no help What is the work environment and culture like at the company?Very stressful, lots of shouting and arguing amongst chefs as there is no cumulative between them , and are all very two faced ,

no hours

do not work here on a 0 hours contract you will get no shifts and the ones you do get you will be completely ignored by the rest of the staff.at this particular prezzo my tips were taken by duty managers and i was constantly being shoved off to do the worst jobs where i would get no interaction with customers.i had very little hands on training and for the most part was just completely forgotten about.the managers never put enough staff on shifts so we would be very overworked and constantly getting complaints from customers. overall just a really bad place to work.

Pros

free food, discount

Cons

bad hours, unhappy work environment

Not too bad but not great

Good good, good tips, but got spoken to like I was stupid, would turn up and be sent home within an hour, sometimes would get phoned to not come in. A few member of staff should not of been working there and didn’t care about their job at all

Good place to learn and grow

Prezzo it's a good place to learn new skills and experience different types of situations with the customers and employees. You can start from being a waiter- waitress and become a duty manager and so on.

Pros

Free food to take home, great tips, paid lunch, paid birthday day.

Cons

Unexpected hours, sometimes you get less hours than you want, company always need you on a busy period time, most of the times you have to work on a weekend.

Stressful, not secure, no home work life balance

I started as a Kp in prezzo and within a very short amount of time I was practically running the place I got no wage increase during that time no thanks or any bonus pay I was contracted 5 hrs to start and after 2-3 weeks I was doing almost 50-60 hrs on £9.25 an hour I also had to go to another branch to run as their head chef for a few months I didn’t get any extra pay or recognition I worked my butt off then I said I only want to do 40 hrs they kept me on 40 hrs for only 2 weeks then dropped my hrs to 10-15 which was barely enough to pay my bills and on top of all of this they gave me 1 weekend off in the almost 2 yrs I worked there. It is not a good place to work and I feel bad for anyone that still works there or chooses to work there.

Pros

Free food when on shift

Cons

Split shifts, long hours, empty promises, most of the food was frozen, terrible management

Working under pressure and under staff

I had a shift manager making fun of my accent and other foreigner colleagues . I was most of the times doing bar because they have preferences between friends . Shift manager has friends that were always given the best sections of tables to work .

Pros

Free food

Cons

Long hours specially at weekends

Good tips- free food

Poor management. With promotion you no longer get tips which is significant in current climate. Pros: Flexible around studies and won’t finish later than 11pm
