Why did you leave your job at Primark Metrocentre?

28 answers

  • There's a lot of competition to get lexible and full time contracts. I was stuck on a twiglight shift 5-9pm which meant getting home was very difficult due to limited public transport.

I initially wanted to get day time shifts as it would be easier with transport but they only seem to be given to specific people such as mothers. If you are a student or genially young you are not a priority.

  • Primark - Yeovil

I left because I'm only contracted to weekends, I have previously applied for a better contract (Monday - Friday 14:15 - 18:15) and got no response or even an interview. The management isn't the best, very unorganised and not very good communication amongst themselves or the supervisors. Working 4 hour shifts doing the same thing every weekend made the day go really slow and boring.

The only thing I did enjoy is, even though the communication could use a little tweaking, I have met some of the best people working here and made some friends for life.

  • Managers and supervisors think they own u, they have no respect for u and treat u like dirt, they try their hardest at findig faults in each and every employee over doing their job right. All supervisors + managers talk about the store manager, shifts are ridiculous, everyone is overworked, too much expected from employees that are paid 4.80 under 18, 6.25 upto 21 7.05 upto 25 and 25 and over get 7.50. The pay is horrendous.

  • I didn’t leave the job in primark because I haven’t work in primar but I would love to work.

  • The supervisors start to think their superior to just the retail assistants even though we had the chance to become a supervisor therefore they are no higher than us. They were very up themselves, so whenever you walked past they would look at you like your useless. They would make you feel like you was always getting something wrong even if you knew you was doing the right job.

  • Contract ended and they weren't taking anyone on at the time.

  • I have no questions to leave the job unless something going wrong

  • The managers ganged up and beat me up every Friday night.

  • Bullying management

  • The attitude of some of the supervisors. The way they talk to you, they wouldn't even dream of talking in the same way to someone in a superior position as they know they would get in trouble but think its acceptable to talk to sales assistants like dirt. Not all supervisors are like that, but have observed about 4 in my store.

Also the work is not challenging sometimes, can be very boring if you have a brain and hard working.
