draining and toxic

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
unfair expectations, managers have favourites and are more lenient with them, not allowed to talk to colleagues even though managers spend most of their shift talking.

Fun to work there at times but hard work

Fun to work there at times, with both staff and customers. The work is easy but repetitive which is what makes it hard work. 99.9 percentage of customers are absolutely great, but others are very rude and abusive towards staff, however, Management and Security do not tolerate it and deal with it very quickly. Overall a good place to work.

Great part time work students

Decent pay, overtime is often available to staff however can be fast paced especially during the weekends so can be a bit stressful sometimes but overall good place to work especially if you’re a student looking for some part time work

Good place for students, part time work available

Good place for students, they got weekend work available and lots of overtime. I worked weekends and got overtime during the week too. I loved my time there as it allowed me to continue my studies

very hit or miss

To have a good time here you need to be able to get in the managers' little group of favourites otherwise you will have a miserable time unless you find friends quickly. They won't show you how to fold anything they way they like it and yell at you when you don't know how to do it.

It’s fine

Very busy and fast paced. A lot of good staff to work with which makes the day go quicker. Tills is much more relaxed than working on the department’s as you have to keep everything as tidy as possible or management get on your back about it.

Great first job

Primark is such a good place to start out, it’s such a faves paced environment and majority of the time it’s busy so you get good time management skills and customer service skills from here. Would recommend for those in college/uni

Good place to work

Enjoyed the job, occasionally stressful when busy but for the wage at the time it wasn't a bad job. Hours I had fit in well with my home life. Higher management was alway changing but overall as long as you got on with the job you were left alone.

Pros

Discount at Christmas

Good first job

In general the work is easy (although sometimes it can get a bit tedious and repetitive), the people are nice and the pay is good compared to similar companies. Hours are good and there's usually overtime available.

Good place to work

Primark was a good place to work. Friendly staff who all help eachother, management are also helpful and make sure you know what your doing. Set hours and weekend off were a bonus.

Great for part-time

Primark give contracted hours for part-timers which is very reasonable, they worked with me regarding school times. Contract extensions are always offered, and after a year you’re often offered a permanent contract. In terms of the work itself: relatively easy but can get tedious and boring. Managers always look out for you and if you’re looking for work you can always ask, but for shifts where you’re zoning it will be folding clothes the whole time. However the pay is fair and the same for everyone (at the store I work at).Overall a good place to work over summer or while at school, but it can get boring!

Pros

Discount, Contract Extensions, Support Available

Cons

Can be tedious

Supportive

Grimsby store a good place to work fair management.Always work load and fast paced and busy deliveries big.Can be stressful and hectic over christmas, although this affects managers more than staff.

Pros

Fkexibility

Cons

Pay

Boring and Slow Workplace

This job is exactly what you’d expect. You have nothing to do for the whole shift except pick up mess after customers over and over. If you tried to do tasks like put out stock, it will always have already been done by someone else. Managers were patronising and spoke down to you all the time. You’re not allowed to talk to your colleagues even when working otherwise you’ll get told off.

Pros

Discount, Good Pay & Lots of Overtime

Cons

Long Hours, not much to do
