Princess Yachts International Plc Employee Review

Amazing product and people

Love the people and product. Shame about the poor leadership...absolutely no strategy and don't expect any training of worth. The end product is world beating but very painful getting there. The new owners are doing the right thing but middle management's interpretation of direction is abused by egotistical and slightly stupid senior management. Regardless this company can be really fun to work for and personally I have never had a boring day. Definitely worth spending some time here.

Long term stable employment. Good people to work with

The company has looked after me for the last nine years, however, we are facing a necessary but uncertain restructuring process. I think the present and future companies will be very different from each other. The present directorship has an automotive background so that is the direction in which they want to steer it

The worst job I ever had!

So I went for an interview which I waited for 3 hours before even being seen, I then got the job as they were after an engineer. This was not the case, they are after a lackay or a cleaner, or a road sweeper but definitely not an engineer, I brought my own tools to the job which I was laughed at bring ling a Vernier and micrometer as supposedly not needed when building a £16million pound yacht. I then proceeded to do my job better than what was expected and told to slow down and got a warning for being to fast else I will have no work to do!?!? , Management is absolutely terrible and couldn't organise a kids 5 a side team. The staff have no training and no idea what's going on half the time. And the actual finished product of their boats is shocking to think they even float let alone sell for millions. Suprised they haven't gone under before now

Pros

It's in plymouth

Cons

Literally everything, down the the fibreglass, and resin, being chucked down the drain, whoops should say that

If your face fits

Allow the bullies and slackers to run the boat line and decide who stays and who goes. Inconsiderate selfish unhelpful workers. Music is on repeat at full volume and you have to shout to the person next to you, in the next compartment. Lack of training. Lack of equipment, supplies. Company are bad supplier bill payers. Managers look after their own finances figures. Unfair differences between contracts. Unhelpful, non empathetic managers, Some team leads are helpful, understanding to employee well being issues and that it

Pros

4day week

Cons

Insecure car park. Unhelpful people work there. Pay and pay grades
