Princess Yachts International Plc Employee Review
The worst job I ever had!
Mechanical/Electrical Engineer (Former Employee) - Plymouth - 11 July 2023
So I went for an interview which I waited for 3 hours before even being seen, I then got the job as they were after an engineer. This was not the case, they are after a lackay or a cleaner, or a road sweeper but definitely not an engineer, I brought my own tools to the job which I was laughed at bring ling a Vernier and micrometer as supposedly not needed when building a £16million pound yacht. I then proceeded to do my job better than what was expected and told to slow down and got a warning for being to fast else I will have no work to do!?!? , Management is absolutely terrible and couldn't organise a kids 5 a side team. The staff have no training and no idea what's going on half the time. And the actual finished product of their boats is shocking to think they even float let alone sell for millions. Suprised they haven't gone under before now
Pros
It's in plymouth
Cons
Literally everything, down the the fibreglass, and resin, being chucked down the drain, whoops should say that

Amazing product and people
Manager (Current Employee) - Plymouth, Devon - 12 September 2023
Love the people and product. Shame about the poor leadership...absolutely no strategy and don't expect any training of worth. The end product is world beating but very painful getting there. The new owners are doing the right thing but middle management's interpretation of direction is abused by egotistical and slightly stupid senior management. Regardless this company can be really fun to work for and personally I have never had a boring day. Definitely worth spending some time here.

Fit out engineer (Current Employee) - Plymouth - 30 May 2023
Allow the bullies and slackers to run the boat line and decide who stays and who goes. Inconsiderate selfish unhelpful workers. Music is on repeat at full volume and you have to shout to the person next to you, in the next compartment. Lack of training. Lack of equipment, supplies. Company are bad supplier bill payers. Managers look after their own finances figures. Unfair differences between contracts. Unhelpful, non empathetic managers, Some team leads are helpful, understanding to employee well being issues and that it
Pros
4day week
Cons
Insecure car park. Unhelpful people work there. Pay and pay grades

Composite Laminator (Current Employee) - Plymouth - 22 May 2023
Since day 1 i started the place has been a total joke They tell us they cant afford to give us overtime, but constantly take on new trainees everyweek, We barely EVER have the right materials for the job especially tools Its a struggle to find anything Management is terrible Theres wayy too many people whos managment personally think its a job to walk round all day Managers are hypocrites tell you to put glasses on while speaking to you without theirs, seems to be there more worried about what peoples wearing then there are getting boats out In my eyes the place is a waste of your time Princess is known for hire and fire on trainees Get them to 10 or 11 months on there probation and BOOM out the door on to the next personally if i was you FIND A DECENT TIME WORTHY JOB people who do nothing get promoted in princess and the ones that do everything stay on their tools!
