Working with the young people is highly rewarding
However ...after 6 years I was burnt out ..unsupported ...verbally abused at times..and out down in front of other staff and often in team meetings .. .this had a huge effect on my confidence and mental health and I had to leave. Please please do not go into this role lightly as the staff can be as challenging if not more challenging than the young people and I was often in floods of tears after gruelling 15 hour shifts.
The money was good and the qualifications brilliant as well as the training however ...but please don't suffer in silence with the rest of it like I did for all of those years.
Priory group are brilliant
But the management they hire in their carehomes are shocking
Not a place you would want to work. Power trips and blind eye turned by others. Toxic all round. Focus is on making money and having beds filled at all costs. Management will look out for themselves and conditions for other staff can be poor to grotty.
Nepotistic; no care for staff or customers; no morals or accountability
