No progression or support
General Service Assistant (Former Employee) - Solihull, West Midlands - 10 September 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedNothing. Just nothing was done by management to support and we’re incredibly insistent on micro managing everything without actually caring about how the employees feel.

Terrible company- avoid
Local Property Expert (Former Employee) - Dorset - 1 August 2023
Terrible hours, expected to be on call 7-days a week. Pull commission for the slightest issue. I wore myself and my car out. I’ve now gone back into regular estate agency. People give me a sideways look if I mention PB.

Flexible, relaxed place to work
Local Property Advisor (Current Employee) - Kent - 20 July 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Remote working, flexibility No office commute, Teams calls and regular communication from management What is the most stressful part about working at the company? The diary is not suitable for estate agents The system does not recognise a Saturday as a working day, so booking annual leave can be long winded Inadequate cover when on annual leave, staff to cover large areas Difficult SAP concur system to claim back mileage Commission is determined by conversion rate of others. No Commission from selling a property. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Good, there’s no office to work in, any clash of personalities can be diluted by remote working What is a typical day like for you at the company? Pre calls Diary management Conducting viewings Negotiations Marketing calls

I appreciated the good times
Local Property Expert (Former Employee) - Yorkshire - 12 July 2023
I appreciated the good times, now the bad times are here and very uncertain on what the future looks like. Would recommend for new people who want to move into estate agency, maybe not for people used to the high street

Early days were great, not so much now
Area Sales Manager (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 6 June 2023
Back in the "golden days" it was the best place to work- sadly a woefully incapably leadership team have ruined it. High redundancies, poor business model and chaotic processes make this a company you would be mad to join.

Fantastic company and management as well as fantastic work life balance
Local Property Agent (Current Employee) - Wrexham, Wrexham - 23 May 2023
The work life at purple bricks is brilliant as you work around your own diary while still having a set salary every month. Personally for my role I believe I deserved higher pay for the effort I put in but it’s not the worst. Lower management are brilliant my area director is brilliant as well as my colleagues in the area and are very supportive and helpful. Sadly recent events have made me feel very insecure in my role
Pros
Create your own diary, good management, work life balance
Cons
Job security, pay

Great team
Local Property Agent (Former Employee) - Plymouth, Devon - 16 May 2023
Really liked the team i worked with and had a really nice area director but the commission is awful for the amount of work expected. They also expect you to pressure every single viewer into mortgage appointments, surveys etc

Worst company I have ever worked for
Letting Agent (Former Employee) - Wfh - 7 May 2023
They treat their staff appallingly, and pay badly for what they expect you to do. After they let me go for the most ridiculous reason, and humiliated me to boot, I found a job that was 2k more than the top commission they were offering. Speaks volumes. Tried to get out of paying my salary, until I got my trade union involved. Toxic working environment, and impossible targets. Avoid.
Pros
Nothing
Cons
Everything.

Repetitive
Business Development Agent (Current Employee) - Solihull, West Midlands - 18 April 2023
It’s okay. The days are the same. The calls are the same. You’re treated like a sales team but the salary does not match. Things get changed constantly and you never know if you do a good job or not

Excellent to work for
Local Property Expert (Current Employee) - Falkirk, Falkirk - 7 March 2023
Purplebricks allows for a good work life balance and good commission earned when busy/doing well. Can manage your own diary and work from home, great company to work for

Horrendous
Mortgage Advisor (Current Employee) - Remote - 6 March 2023
This company is hands down the worst I have ever worked for. My colleagues in the mortgage team were brilliant and my direct management was great but the lack of knowledge from the CEO and senior leadership is scandalous. Without a doubt it will go under so don’t waste your time and stay away.

Alright
Local Property Partner (covering (Current Employee) - Derbyshire - 3 March 2023
Was alright but not great, unmanageable amount of properties to look after, you look after the same a normal estate agent would with 3 people working in there!!!

Nationwide company where upper management don’t get it
Pre Tenancy Administrator (Current Employee) - Remote - 22 February 2023
Overall a seemingly okay place to work for. They have a wellbeing wellness hour on a Wednesday so are ticking the right boxes. However, the work load is at times unmanageable and as a remote worker doing extra hours is too tempting to keep up. Unfortunately, upper management do not see that the model is not quite working and don’t listen enough to the feedback from the employees. Such a shame.
Pros
Work from the comfort of your home
Cons
Too tempting to work over your hours

Lovely people, pay could be better
Customer Service Advisor (Former Employee) - Solihull, West Midlands - 7 February 2023
Had a great few years at PB but progression was hard and all they cared about were the number of calls you could answer and not the quality of the customer service.

Mange own time and diary loads of flexibility
Local Property Partner (Former Employee) - Norfolk - 30 January 2023
Although you can manage your own diary and time, the hours can be very long due to constant calls from customers and unable to meet their expectations with lack of other support. Essentially you are expected to manage a large portfolio of people alone and still expected to meet targets. Very number driven, management don't have a lot of compassion for their colleagues or customers.
Pros
Manage own time and Diary, Pay and commission very good
Cons
No support unable to meet customer demand, postcode areas far and unrealistic logistically

Run poorly
Estate Agent (Current Employee) - Sheffield - 9 December 2022
The company is ran terribly. Management don’t know what they’re doing and are willing to throw you under bus to save their self. They don’t help at all

Great people, tough work/life balance.
Local Property Expert (Former Employee) - Manchester, Greater Manchester - 22 November 2022
Colleagues and management are amazing. Great company to work for and you can cater around your lifestyle. However with no branch etc, it’s really hard to switch off and manage the balance.
