Good place

Indeed featured review

It’s good. Great benefits. Didn’t want to leave but had to as part of business was sold. Levels were busy. Offices were nice. Enjoyed collaborating. Canteen a bit expensive.

You get what you put in

All in all if you love a corporate environment and will shout loudly to be noticed this is probably the place for you. If you're like me and you just want rewarding work to do and to be recognised accordingly it probably isn't. I was with PwC Operate for just over a year, in that time was probably given about 5 weeks worth of actual work to do, the remainder spent upskilling while on the bench. If you like to upskill in new tech then the free training packages such as Udemy accounts are a good benefit of working here. If you don't you will find yourself feeling unemployed for long periods of time.Middle management was mostly absent from my experience. Projects seem to be allocated randomly and don't allign with skills or preference. No directed training given so most new joiners fall into the same pitfalls time and time again and then are almost mocked for it. There is quite a patronising culture at the firm.Lovely office, but hot desking is annoying unless you want to arrive to work an hour early just to get a decent space. Also most of the work you do will be with stangers across the firm UK wide and you will have no real reason to go into the office anyway. My advice, gather as many professional certifications as you can while at the firm and then move on to somewhere better paid with more rewarding work.

Pros

Good training packages and flexible working

Cons

Lack of guidance or career progression, low salary

Lots of workload but good career progression

During the peak period, the workload could be very high and the atmosphere is very stressful. The life depends on whether you have a good team or manager or not. Very clear career progression

Pros

Good career progression

Cons

Workload

Stressful

The life of an auditor can be stressful. Long working hours with pay not matching. When you become a senior associate salary is good for London but not enough for work done. Competitive environment and fast paced. But job security is guaranteed

A good workplace for new grads seeking long term employment in the sector

Days are long with little initial support although this varies massively depending on where you are based and what team you are attached to. The pay is bad for the hours worked but if you stick it out and get the ACA then its worth it long term.

Pros

Good career progression

Cons

Long hours

A fantastic place to work for. Great opportunity to meet new people and socialise

This is a very supportive company to work for and there are many opportunities for progression. Pay is also competitive although not always great. I would recommend this company if you are interested in gaining some meaningful work experience.

Overall a decent place to work

Management were great, very supportive and well organised. Depending on your discipline, the work can be a little monotonous, although work / life balance is good. Fantastic benefits and company events.

Good opportunity

Very good career opportunity. Plenty of room to climb the ladder if willing. Need to differentiate yourself from the rest. Would recommend for a graduate.

Great for development, less so for Wellbeing

It has been the best company i've worked for from a personal development perspective, but this comes at the sacrifice of work-life balance. You can learn and progress at fairly quickly, but to do so you need to be willing to work the extra hours.

Pros

Development and opportunities

Cons

Long hours - very 'Who you know' driven

Great people...poor work life balance

Great place to train and kick start your career. People are Great to work with and will become lifetime friends. The hours are long and can become stressful. Would recommend a regional office to accelerate learning experience

Expect everything from employees for poor return and terrible work life balance

You’ll be expected to work long hours, unpaid overtime, poor rewards and awful work life balance.Very top heavy so little room for development no matter how hard you work.Useless senior staff who rely on the underpaid, overworked junior staff for everything.

Great place to work

Great place to work. I enjoyed my time at PwC, long hours but good culture. pay is like every other big 4, not high enough for the long hours. but overall nice.

Toxic - avoid

Seems like a good salary on the face of it but when you add up the hours you will work, it's actually peanuts. You will work all hours for little reward and if you're face doesn't fit it will be very difficult to advance. Don't expect to have a life outside of work.

Unless you want to devote your life to work, don't join here.

Some benefitsFlexible workingAccess to virtual GP'sHowever, the corporate environment is soul sucking, no matter what you do, they will always continue to demand more. Dog eat dog world where others will throw you under the bus to avoid blame for any of their failures on projects. No work life balance once you get to a certain level.

Good Place to work

Enjoyed working there. A bit corporate, but lots of benefits and nice office to work in. Invested in social aspects outside of work, and invested in their people.

Good place to work

Pwc has a good culture. Most managers are good, a very small minority if managers is terrible. The pay is lower than other companies…The offices are the best you can imagine

Underpaid

Main concern is that we are so underpaid for the amount of work we are expected to do. The hours through busy season are horrendous and we only get base rate!. Mentally the busy seasons drain me and I have no time for friends and family. It’s literally sleep, work, eat and repeat. The flexibility of working for PwC as a firms is very different to the flexibility around this role.

Fast-paced culture

PwC is a good place to start your career as you are exposed very quickly to large corporations and broad range of projects which is good for networking and clinching better paying high profile jobs.

Pros

Interesting projects

Cons

Long hours
