Mono Line Casualty Underwriter in Glasgow City Centre, Glasgow
on 18 March 2020
Professional Experienced highly qualified employees
I am new to the Glasgow insurance market and my 35 year career was spent in Birmingham underwriting Commercial combined business. I was employed on a fixed 12 month contract as maternity cover and thoroughly enjoyed learning how to underwrite large mono line casualty risks with brokers new to me in a market I was not familiar with. Great staff and management and very experienced underwriters.

Toxic Management, No Progression.
After graduating I was hoping to start a fruitful career in insurance. I worked here for almost a year and I have to say it was the worst job I have ever had. Toxic management. You wouldn't dare utter a word on how poorly the operation was being run and if you did expect discipline in private or be strong-armed in to leaving. (This soon become apparent when people would join then leave after rumours of a disagreement) No progression at all, promotions where unheard of, work was as robotic as it could get. Same repetitive tasks everyday it was hard to stay mentally sane. Avoid at all costs.
