Zero hour contract
Student Support Worker (Former Employee) - Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne and Wear - 28 August 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedIt is good work if you are at university and want to work at your convenience. You will hardly get 20 hours of work per week. There is a big communication gap.

Very stressful with little help if any
Track Operative (Current Employee) - Fa2,fa3,fa1 - 23 September 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Worked for them for over 2 years, had a lot of issues with incorrect wages that took 4 mouths to get corrected. And trying to resolve any issues is a task alone, you will just keep getting messed around. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Getting told to email mail any issues, which don't get resolved or alot of times no replys even with management. Had to get union and other work bosses from other companys involved, for randstad to act and correct issues which but me though a lot of stress. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Work environment is clean and tidy, but seen a lot of trouble regarding working What is a typical day like for you at the company? Hard work for 90 percent of jobs

Fair enough
Logistics Team Member (Current Employee) - Peterborough, Cambridgeshire - 21 August 2023
Well looked after by management. Lots of good people and few bad. Night shift premium is decent same as overtime or weekend. Whenever happens. Also they have afternoon shift premium too

Varied role, Great Manager
Administrator (Former Employee) - Remote - 19 August 2023
Enjoyed my time working here, varied work which was interesting and was given independence and control over my own workload, remote flexible work conditions.

Not that good if you need to get paid the correct amount
Temporary Mechanical Inspector (Current Employee) - Wales - 10 August 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? When they get your hours, pay or holiday correct the first time which isn’t that often. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Waiting to see if they have got your wages right. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Not very professional but they are polite What is a typical day like for you at the company? Ok because I am a temp worker and it’s getting to the point that I need to find something permanent .

Not great
Specialist Mentor (Former Employee) - Brighton, East Sussex - 8 August 2023
IT system is ok. Not too hard to book and send reports but it was better/easier on the old system. Biggest disappointment was no pay rise in 5 years.

Boring place
Assembly Operator (Former Employee) - Peterborough, Cambridgeshire - 7 August 2023
It’s very unfair work culture it doesn’t matter how hard you work their is a lot of favouritism in the work environment the management skills are very poor. You are just a number . there is no job security.
Pros
Regular breaks
Cons
Unsociable hours

Good opportunities, for block assignments.
Tutor/Teacher/Trainer (Current Employee) - Leeds - 6 August 2023
Good opportunities once you have secured the hours that you want, which you don’t always get as there is competition for set weekly hours. Candidates are matched with students accordingly. I have been working online as part of the NTP initiative and have had some good hours. Friendly, professional staff.
Pros
NTP initiative can offer regular weekly hours.
Cons
One doesn’t always get what they select.

Awful
Recruitment Consultant (Former Employee) - Maidstone, Kent - 6 August 2023
Micromanage your you, arrogant staff no room for progressing to your own clients, basically you’ll be a sourcing for someone else for years, the only good thing is they got a coffee machine.

Jobs at Randstad
Okay
Recruitment Administrator (Former Employee) - London, Greater London - 5 August 2023
They were okay but your experience is very much down to your manager. I started off with a great manager but the last was not professional and micro managed the team.

Overall good but the schedule can be unpredictable
Professional Note-taker (Current Employee) - Remote - 5 August 2023
Great especially for those looking for a side job. But bare in mind you'll have weeks completely booked in and others with no hours at all. It's tricky to get the right students looking for long term support so while the job itself is easy, getting the best opportunities is a challenge

Micromanagement and blame culture
Recruitment Consultant (Former Employee) - Essex - 5 August 2023
Micromanagement on a daily basis. Good pay and work life balance but you will only progress if your face fits. Bullying culture goes all the way to the top.

Laid back easy work
Operative warehouse (Former Employee) - Leicester, Leicestershire - 5 August 2023
Pretty easy work which you’re trained on site to do, friendly staff members and okay pay. Management on site not the friendliest but other than that it’s a nice place.

Rewarding job but frustrating set up, little support
Specialist Notetaker (Current Employee) - Manchester, Greater Manchester - 20 June 2023
The job is rewarding as your work is supportive and helps with student achievement, however, Randstad is frustrating to deal with. Email reply time is around 2 weeks, sometimes not replied to at all and 3 out of 5 times, the phone rings out. You are supposed to use the online portal to manage timesheets etc and there is information on there, however some things are missed that need specific answers. Staff often have different answers on the same topic. I guess you are self employed so are to make decisions on your own to an extent but would be helpful to feel more supported and have more training, specifically on note taking. My payments have always been accurate and completed on time, so no complaints there and the pay can be quite good, and you are paid weekly.

Easy going company to work for
Articulated Dump Truck Driver (Former Employee) - Durham, Durham - 13 June 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Never pushed. Easy going company to work for. What is the most stressful part about working at the company? Like most agencies when it comes to being laid off it’s very short notice. What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Easy going nice office staff easy to approach and ask questions. What is a typical day like for you at the company? Worked for a large company so never saw ranstad staff unless I contacted them

Good enough for now?
Teaching Assistant (Former Employee) - London - 22 May 2023
Good company, nice staff. I would say for someone who eventually wants to train and be a teacher to avoid agencies though, you’re rarely taken seriously, the pay (particular at Ranstad) is not enough to live off, and when it comes to holidays you’re not paid for your time. And not to mention they recruit you under the guise of instant work ASAP but it takes about a month for things to actually get moving. It’s a good company but seems a little all over the place. Teaching assistants deserve more than £75 a day, especially when working with SEN children. SEN schools pay over £150 in a day!
Pros
Weekly pay
Cons
Pay isn’t good
