They are fair to work for but don't expect miracles if you want overtime etc.Always paid on time never late and the management are always easy to get hold of if needed

Can be a good place too work

Spent 25 years here excellent first 15 years with training support and overtime if wanted. Staff all friendly and happy then.. although over the last several years incompetent management and supervisors expecting you too do their work with no pay rise or chance of advance made it impossible too turn up there too work. Unhappy staff constantly on the sick no cover same work expected too be done. If your face don’t fit your not going anywhere. But if your happy too lick some A… and be a back stabbed then your going too get very far. Disturbing for a local authority who should give equal opportunities and listen too their staff. Glad too be from there!

Single Point of Access Co-ordinator (Former Employee) - RCT - 7 November 2022

I have worked for RCT in various roles within Adult Social Care for 20+ years. The Role is very fast paced, needing full focus, as you handle the whole range of social care enquiries from general public 18+, community professionals, hospitals. Strong decision making, problem solving skills, assessing needs, what matters to the individual, Team work are essential. Supportive & encouraging line management, all work hard alongside you. All in all it’s a great team of people. Recent changes in senior management level has been a huge improvement as previous (same) lacked any people skills & was oppressive to work under.

Absolute shower of s**t to work for. Management promoting their friends whom do not know the job over people who have legitimate experience. No drive or passion for what they do. Waste tax payers money. Boring.

Friendly people. Staff survey once a year which the Senior Leadership team actually look at an act upon. Fantastic response to the Covid Pandemic in relation to staff, their welfare and understanding of individuals' needs.

very early starts,shifts to suit needs of the job,relaxed place, left to do your job,sometimes asked to do extra jobs, very good manager good team spirit,always helped one another, the best part of the job has been the friends you have met along the way, it could be a very demanding job but also very fullfilling

Productive and understanding

I have worked for rctcbc now for over 15 years in the same residential home. When my health started to take a dip this last year i spoke to my manager Dawn williams who immediately addressed the situation risk assessed my condition and i also had no issue with reduceing my work load to help me continue to do my job safely and enable me to carry on in a job ive loved since day one. My work collegues are superb and are there for me every shift helping me to carry out my role with integrity abd safely in a great environment which has its challenges. Thank you all.x

Worked for over 5 years enjoyed my job but felt like i needed a bit more of an challenge just sitting in the drivers seat pretty much all day and doing the same rought found to be boring after a while but i found the money was tight to live on found a job which was more active and suited me better

My working day is never the same , it has many variations. I liaise with the headteacher about on-site problems and this is done on an informal basis. My work place is normally very welcoming and pleasant. The job is not really demanding or hard , but it is enjoyable as I get the opportunity to help with the children and pass on my knowledge as firefighter to them
