Pressured, unsafe and inconsistent - pay good but often inaccurate or unpaid entirely!

- keep track of your working hours and overtime (with photographic evidence) pay is usually inaccurate- payslips aren’t always given on requests- early starts and late finishes mean you will exceed working hours (14+ per day)- vehicle defects are frequently left unresolved as pressure from managers and lack of time discourages appropriate action- unloading is chaotic poorly managed and quite unsafe- management will tell you that you will often finish early but you won’t- local parking restrictions (17:30-22:00) mean you are likely to have your car ticketed or towed before you have finished work- as you will see; pay is a little higher than average but given the above is it really worth it?

Pros

Slightly higher pay offered

Cons

Long hours, lack of care, inaccurate pay, restricted parking and everything else!

Friendly and supportive workplace

I previously worked for Redcorn. The staff and a management are very friendly and extremely supportive. The pay is a great rate and they assist you when needed. They go above and beyond to make sure all staff are ok and manage workload effectively

Pros

Learning

It can be a lovely place to work in, but a lot has happened over the past couple of years.I love helping people and that will never change, I'm glad I have the opportunity to do that to the best of my ability there. It can get pretty stressful trying to meet targets, but that goes without saying, we try our hardest.I love a lot of the people that work there, it's a lovely atmosphere at times.

Cons

None really

Probably the best pay in London.

Perfect job for someone with recovery/mechanical knowledge and background. Long hours for probably the best pay in London. Weekly pay helps with smooth start at new work place. No pressure to work weekends but Saturdays available for those who want. You will get the oldest truck at beginning until next people come or fleet will be expanded which is fair enough. Every day is difrent, every vehicle to collect in difrent condition and is located in unknown position until you get there. Mostly every customer is helpful and cooperative but you will get to people with all disabilities or mental health issues so you must be awere of that and act carefully. You need to call every customer before collection and update them if you have any deley which mean you must be well organised and with high anticipate. You must have good attention to details and can do attitude. Based on my experience I can highly refer to anyone who want to work. Good luck.

Pros

- probably the best pay in London

Cons

- long hours on the beginning

Poorly run

I was on a week trial, with in the week trail as there mechanic, I done all That was needed of me, was told that after the week if I passed I’ll be moved in to there other site in Purfleet.I was told that I had the job, on my first day at Purfleet, I was half way through my work when I was told that I didn’t have the job, neither was a payed for the week I worked.......witch I am still waiting for a call about my money.Red corn in a massive recovery fleet and have great work if you’re willing to get your head down, but you’ll be treated like an animal and will not be shown any respect what so ever.

Pros

Plenty of work

Cons

Terrible management

Hire and fire

Hire and fire without a care in the world, will not give you any warnings they would just call you in their little office unhour before you finish and fire you. I'm not sure what the management wanted I thought I was doing well until that day came. Maybe my look wasn't right for them. I was you, I would avoid this place as there is no job security at all.

Pros

Wages for very good

Cons

No job security
