Absolutely dreadful , avoid at all costs
Shunter Driver (Current Employee) - Northallerton - 27 September 2023
What is the best part of working at the company? Nothing good to write, absolute shocking from start to finish Wages constantly wrong No communication Staff are miserable Too many bosses (that don't communicate) What is the most stressful part about working at the company? From the moment you click on it's everyman for himself , no 1 cares and health and safety is non existent What is the work environment and culture like at the company? Hostile environment no culture at all...you are litterally on your own , all complaints or anyone to talk to at all are looked passed , it's an awful place to work What is a typical day like for you at the company? Clock on Find a tug that no one is using (be quick or you'll get the worst 1) Fill in defects and report them all (there will be a few) Decide what store you want to cover (you won't be told) Try make sense of all the chatter that comes across the radio ,try to write it down while manoeuvring , you can't stop !

A horrible place to work
Warehouse Operative (Former Employee) - Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire - 29 June 2023
Just horrible, cold, the majority of managers are useless, don't care, unorganised, they make promises about bonuses around Christmas that never materialise, just horrible

Could be better
Class 1 Driver (Current Employee) - Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire - 14 June 2023
Lots of work, you will do max hours all the time so if you have a long commute I would stay away, pay is on the lower side but you do get paid breaks. You are just a number so if you have any issues don’t expect much to be done about it. Easy work tho.

Easy work. But communication terrible
Driver (Former Employee) - Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire - 13 June 2023
Easy rdc work single drops mostly but let down by different truck week by week even if tramping and you can never get hold of the planners. Everything was done by phonecall which meant missing details from next job at times

Stressful job
C+E Driver (Former Employee) - Yorkshire - 15 March 2023
The company boast that they have state of the art truck's and trailers which is simply not true. Trucks are basic fleet spec, nothing state of the art about that. Trucks are well maintained mechanically but that's about it. If you a tramper don't expect a set truck, every week you will get a different one (only the brown noses get a set truck). The main problem lies within the transport office, planners are clueless and don't know what they doing except 1 or 2 of them. They expect you to max your hours and try to push you to do the impossible. Even on your last day with only 13 hours they try send you somewhere far and if you tell them that's impossible they just say get on with it and give us a ring when you get there. Poor planning also means theres empty trailers returning to the yard. They also don't pay for parking.

Avoid
HGV Class 1 Driver (Current Employee) - Boroughbridge - 22 February 2023
As soon as you gain some experience, FLEE! There is no life/work balance as they squeeze out every single second of what you can legally do. You are just a number here not a person.
Pros
There is no pros
Cons
Extra long hours, overused equipment

Decent place to work, no real complaints except the cold. Long breaks and easy work, can’t fault it at all really. Highly recommended to anyone wanting a job

RB a job with a difference.
HGV Class 1 Driver (Current Employee) - Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire - 1 June 2022
So, not to waste anyone's time.. here goes. Expect.. Max hours Complete chaos in the planning department.. lots of trailers of fresh air travelling the UK. Very uneconomical and is known to make a loss on the transport. No wonder with such a high turnover of staff and zero communications between shifts. If you call between 05.30 and 06.30 and then again between 17.30 and 18.30.. (handover in office) expect no one to answer. If they do you normally get asked "what your doing" or.. no, who told you to do that.. "oh no don't listen to them" It's comical how the poor planning creates such a waste of money to the business. Whist I'm on waste of money. Agency, sign up with one. I have NEVER been out of work. Do not work directly for them!!! They pay Agency at least £3 an hour more than contracted staff.. More and more Agency every week. Even full time guys leave to come back on agency!!!! Easy job, max hours 5 days 4 nights take home over £1000 in hand. No wonder they can't get full time men when they pay so much to agency!!
Pros
Agency wages
Cons
Full time wages

Okay
HGV Class 1 driver (Current Employee) - Cumbernauld, North Lanarkshire - 21 April 2022
If you like 4 on 4 off and plenty of time off then it's the job for you. Trucks are are in good condition and never any problem with wages. Unless you get plenty overtime(which isn't guaranteed) you'll make nowhere near the advertised 43k.

Easy job
HGV Class 1 Driver tramper (Former Employee) - Scotland - 4 March 2022
An easy job can be ruined by some of the planners who don't have a clue. Though a couple of the planners are really good. Trucks are hit and miss, cabhopping is horrible in in these times shouldn't happen
Pros
Easy tips lots of down time make sure your Netflix subscription is up to date.
Cons
Max hours Cab hopping Some planners

Avoid at all cost
Driver (Former Employee) - Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire - 17 September 2021
The company say they are equal, diverse and non discriminate well that isn't the case. Very long hours pushed to your limits. Staff do not help you one bit. From what I found facilities for there trampers are non existent a kettle here and a kettle there. Sent out on pointless runs, get two hours down road and told to bring it back cause the company wouldn't accept it.
Pros
Nice Volvo motor
Cons
Everything else

Warehouse operator
Warehouseman (Current Employee) - Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire - 10 August 2021
Absolute rubbish place to work. Can't wait to get away. Supervisors are untrained and there are no leadership skills from managers. So much ignorance it is unbelievable. Atmosphere is toxic. If your face fits....and if not well you just feel bad all the time. Training is poor and health and safety non existant
Pros
Free tea
Cons

.Nice place to work
Driver (Current Employee) - Grimsby, Lincolnshire - 30 July 2021
There are little problems. You can be on the phone for a long time before it's answered. They could do with more people in the office. Otherwise good vehicles and trailers and a good pay rise although many people think it will go up some more shortly. I would recommend this job to anyone . Plus a health care provider free to employees.
Pros
Good Trucks. Happy tea.
Cons
Lengthy time before phone answering

Hgv driver
Class 1 Tramper (Former Employee) - Boroughbridge - 12 January 2021
They favour the polish drivers...equipment is good ..new units and trailers always spot on but thats where the good bits end. They will continually run you into somewhere out of time and not give a monkeys about you . End of.
Pros
Goid kit
Cons
Planning terrible

Carnage, not Haulage
LGV Driver (Former Employee) - Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire - 29 October 2020
Expected to work maximum hours on day shifts. You will be working between 65 and 70 hours per week. And having to factor in a commute. Expect to be driving through the gate with just minutes to spare. Every day. So stressful. Even for a driving job. The hours are relentless. If you run out of time, it’s your problem. You’ll be doing a night out without any kit. Then you’ll be straight in the next day, and back out for another maximum hour day. Very poor management and planning. Seriously chaotic. An “every minute counts” attitude, and they will try to squeeze every last drop of blood out of you. It can take 90 minutes just for them to answer the phone. They’ll just ignore you if you’re of no use to them at that minute. Then demand that you go the extra mile for them. You will be exhausted, demoralised, irritated, and broken. You will be cab hopping, even during a pandemic. Trampers too. I only recommend RB as a last resort, or as a short-term fix. But these lot will take years off your life expectency with what they expect from you. Completely unsustainable level of stress. The only upsides are decent kit, easy fridge work, and there was never any funny business with wages.
Pros
Easy work. New, well maintained kit.
Cons
Horrific hours. Shockingly bad planning. Cab hopping.

What a joke
HGV 1 Driver (Former Employee) - Boroughbridge, North Yorkshire - 10 September 2020
I've turned up for an interview today and honestly I've never felt so disrespected in all my driving career. Told to fill a basic application form in which took 15 mins. Sat waiting 40 mins for interview which lasted 15 mins. Told you will get charged for damage. If your a tramper and your back in yard you either go home or wait for a truck to get some sleep in and will not get paid your allowance.Told sit back in a chair for which I spent another 30 mins before someone said he's taking me for a test drive in half an hour. Really !!! treated unprofessionally from the go so walked out. No wonder they have a bad turnaround. 3 hrs of my life I'll never forget
Pros
Honestly I'm lost for words
Cons
without getting into a truck i could see you will be treated like cattle
