All you’ll do is firefight all shift (for good money though)

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Amazing set of lads in the engineering department however there are not enough people to achieve what the management expect.Morale is dreadful due to multiple redundancies in the last 5 years. Can’t hold on to experienced engineers but the management are never questioning why.Machines are very old and lack of people mean the maintenance strategies aren’t effective. Feel free to work here if you like money but running around for 12 hours to earn it.A lot of the team are legacy people who’ve been with the business for a long time and are resistant to change - allowing a poor work ethic to continue.

Pros

Free coffee via vending machines, good continental shift pattern

Cons

No training support. Over worked engineering department.

Avoid at all cost

Avoid this company at all cost,no job security at all and wages are going down. No pay rise in bridgwater for 7 years and management treat you like rubbish.so many have already left because of this. 4 have just been made redundant even though they are still advertising for workers. Joke of a company. When it was gerber it was the place to work in town now its refresco its the lowest of the low and your be mad to take a job there.

Pros

Not a lot

Cons

Long hours, no hot food, low wages

Joke of a Company

If you are an unambitious person with no self confidence, pride or honor, this is definitely a place for you. But if you show any of the former mentioned characteristics this will be a very unpleasant experience for you. A company full of adults that act like children. No freedom, once you're inside, it's like you're their property. Definitely was the worst experience of my life, glad I left, every job I had after was better by far.

Disrespectful management

This is the last company in the town where you would like to work... Poor management, salary's going down... What else i can say... Years ago was one of the best places to work, and now its the one of the worst...

Pros

Nothing at all

Cons

Salary, management

Good lads but poor management

Management don’t have a clue as to what is going on. They don’t support you as you are an agency worker and will fob you off. They only support workers which are employed by Refresco. You can only go through an agency and they treat you like your nothing because they can just replace you whenever they want. You have targets and even if you are trying your hardest you will still get performance strikes and sacked. They say in the job description that they will offer you permanent role but that is never the case hardly anyone is given a contract by refresco. Management and supervisors will use any excuse to get rid of you if they have too many workers. You do more than your job role and never get appraised or appreciation by your supervisor.

Pros

40 minute break

Cons

Poor management and supervisors

Hilariously incompetent management

The people here are okay, and it's a friendly atmosphere. Sadly that's as far as any positives stretch though. The senior management sit in their ivory towers and make decisions on things that they have no experience of. Occasionally they take a break from this to figure out how they can justify a pay cut for the workers, and a reduction in their perks too. Win win. During the rare occasion where there is a quarterly brief, if you ask a question, they shout at you and tell you that you can't ask that question. The lower tier of management are largely unqualified and seem to struggle with composing a comprehensible email, their only expertise seems to be fobbing people off.. This is probably why most of the projects result in catastrophic failure, although this could be a result of a reluctance to spend what they need to, and get lower costs at all costs, even if this is a cost to productivity..

Pros

Free parking there

Cons

Working there

Soul destroying

The management are utterly useless and they are all bullies. They love making people feel scared and they don't care at all. The machines and lines only get thoroughly cleaned when they are due a visit, which they normally stop production for. Other wise you are asked to cut corners to make it look clean enough to start production again. It's outrageous.

Pros

Free coffee machine

Cons

Management

Bad place to work

They are changing grades but not telling that to people as well as not mentioning that at their adverts! Be careful, because management are lying to you about the salary on your interwiev! Once you here, youll find out that your wages will be much lower! Managers are liars! This company dont care about their people!

Pros

Days off

Cons

Night shifts, bad management

Poor poor poor

Floor bouncy for vnas to work, management never around when you need them. Don't tell you where the Fire Assembly Point is, leave battery charges on the floor with trailing cables. Warehouse not complete with workers still walking round everywhere. Full of dust! When you do the online training they tell you to cheat and take pictures of the answers with your phone so that you get 100%

Pros

None clowns everywhere

Cons

None clowns everywhere

Poor management

Unfortunately, words do not go hand in hand with deeds. Development was promised at the beginning of the cooperation and after 2 years group redundancies. I do not recommend. Management does not care about employees and try to squeeze them like a lemon.

Greate atmosphere

Very nice place to work in for people who like machines. Great management. Right people in right place. Improvements and smart solutions are implemented usually on time. cons: big company so some things u might need or want requires approval and time.

Good Company to work for

A very fair Company to work for. Good training. Good pay. Most of the Managers are fair and approachable. Most of the work is on a continental shift. Overtime is a good rate.

Good company

Good company, secure job, social guaranties. Salary is ok for this region and job you do. Prompt decision making from management. Great management! Friendly colleagues, challenging job tasks. Great team work.

Stressfull and strange.

Lots of management that do nothing, place used to run just as well or better with one manager per department, instead of 4-6 managers per department. There is no scope for developing and gaining skills.

It can be recommended to any FMCG professional.

I had a Fixed-term position. Achievements and responsibilities: • Industrial Line Improvement Engineering • Maintenance, corrective and preventative, of the ~2000 machines, conveyors and embedded inspection systems, composing seven packaging lines based on Siemens Simatic Step 7 platform.

Ok

Good job security and largely a good place to work with good benefits and most employees focused on doing a good job under difficult market conditions.

Only worked there for a 6 months fixed term contract. Worked continental hours which was hard to start but soon adapted. The company at the times were great, good workers, management that listened.
