Senior Supervising Social Worker in East Mids

Great place to work
Regional Foster Placements is a small, exceptional company. There is always appropriate manager support available and direct access to Senior Company Owner/Directors when needed. As a worker you have good flexibility with working arrangements and lots of trust allowing you to work autonomously when needed. We have great Administrative and IT support on hand. I have the opportunity to schedule my own diary/meetings and contribute yearly to future planning of my local team. Extra hours worked can be taken back at a convenient time. Training and career development is always encouraged. I have gained in confidence since I came to work here. We receive lots of emotional support from our managers when needed. Supervision with managers is always good quality and on time with constructive feedback given. I feel valued with this company and would recommend it to others. Regional Foster Placements is an excellent company to work for.

Great carers, great children and lovely staff. Overall I would say this is a great company to work for
Fantastic team ethos and a good partnership between carers, staff and children. Regional really make a difference to childrens lives. They are a family run business and all carers and staff keep in touch: this creates "felt security" around placement which is important for stability A pleasure to work for Regional.Great carers, great children and fantastic staff..

Excellent company to work for.
I have worked at Regional for 4 years in the East Midlands team and find it's a very good company to work for. There isn't a typical day at work as the work is very varied. The staff are great and support each other. The office environment is nice with parking.

Unpredictable, rewarding, stressfull and supportive place to work
There is no typical day as the nature of the job dictates we are working with many individuals and professionals each of which impacts on the other. You may put a day aside to complete reports and paperwork but have a placement disrupt which can take the whole day (and more) to sort out.Communication is a key part to the job, whether you are working in the office for the day, attending meetings or supporting foster carers. The agency offers a supportive workplace culture as working from home can be isolating so you need to know there is support available when needed. There is a clear management structure however it is not precious and advice can be sought from any work colleague or manager as deemed relevant. The most difficult part of the job is managing stressful situations as we deal with children, young people, birth families, local authorities, foster carers etc. and you cannot always walk away from the job at the end of the working day either physically or emotionally. The agency also offers a 24 hour on call service which is manned on a rota system by managers and SW's alike. The most enjoyable part of the job is the respect received from colleagues and the being allowed to get on with the task with support there if needed. Also working from home adds extra hours to home life as time is not spent in traffic. However this in itself can have a downside as it is not always easy to switch off at the end of the day as your home is your workplace.
