Poor and unprofessional management

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
I left Restons in February 2019 and I found the company unpleasant to work for. They have no empathy, understanding or compassion whatsoever for their customers. The coaches/trainers are incredibly unprofessional and juvenile. Trainers referred to customers as ‘numpties’, ‘idiots’ and worse. Trainers are patronising and at times aggressive towards trainees. Coaches stand around laughing and joking having inappropriate conversations about things such as their personal’lives whilst staff are right next to them on the phone talking to customers.

Pros

Nice, clean office

Cons

Poor quality of trainers and managers, patronising training, no benefits package, no sick pay (other than ssp), monotonous work, poor pay, unprofessional attitude

Great place to work if you are willing to put in the effort

the debt industry is a fast pased and ever changing one. Restons will invest in anyone who is willing to put the work in. I left after a year to spend time with family in China, but handing in my notice was a hard thing to do. I would love to go back if a position opens up again as management are really supportive, the hours were ideal and the perks were also fantastic.

Awful company to work for

During training, you are treated like a child. The trainers are knowledgeable about the job, but no management or personnel skills at all I witnessed trainers set out to upset, bully and make trainees cry during call training. The overall atmosphere is negative

Restons

The people you work with are very nice, management are funny and down to earth and ages vary so you feel it's achievable. They do cool things like a birthday meal each moth for everyone whose birthday it is; you're taken out for lunch with everyone for around 2 hours and the meal is paid for! They also have random fridays where they may have everyone go on lunch at the same time and order everyone pizza or close early and have chinese

Pros

flexible, fun environment, progression

Cons

dealing with difficult people on the phone

Poor Working Conditions

Poor Working Conditions, unprofessional and intimidating place to work. Multiple members of the team including myself have left the company and some have pursued legal action against the company for the treatment we received.
