Great place to work
Boat Builder (Current Employee) - Poole, Dorset - 17 July 2023
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedGreat place Great benefits. Good home work life balance. Laid back company with no one on your back all the time. Unlike the place over the road. Free hot drinks.

Top heavy
Boatbuilder (Current Employee) - Poole, Dorset - 6 November 2022
Top heavy with management that don't care about the guys on the shop floor. Lots of talk about care but no action just a tick box exercise. Prepare to be bullied if you don't have a strong character by team leaders

Great to do a job that makes a real difference
Boat Builder (Current Employee) - Poole, Dorset - 17 November 2021
Great place to work. Joined after moving to area and breath of fresh air to work somewhere safe, and with flexible working . Recently had some some difficult family issues and team and manager have been great; really makes a difference. Nice job and nice to feel you make a difference to something worthwhile!
Pros
Flexible work hours, safe and great team to work with
Cons
Seagulls eating your sandwiches at breaks

Avoid!
Technician boatbuilder (Current Employee) - Poole - 18 July 2020
Worked as a boatbuilder, don’t care about you as long as the job is done. Cell leaders are brainwashed by the clouts upstairs, if a job has a mistake they will punish you big time for it wouldn’t recommend the place unless you are a robot
Pros
Half day on a Friday
Cons
No respect

The best boat manafacturing workplace I’ve ever been in. Safety is really important and they look after you with brilliant PPE. It’s a great working environment, friendly, fun and professional trades people, who really know their stuff. I only left to relocate for my wife’s job in services; otherwise I’d still be there. If you want a chance to be part of a boatbuilding team producing high quality boats and it’s not just about getting a job done quickly then work here. Probably the best boat building and repair factory in the UK Iif not the world.
Pros
Safety, Great working conditions, the people
Cons
Parking but train, bus close by. And flexible working helps.

Everyone at the RNLI works together as a team and everyone makes you feel very welcome. The work they do there is incredible and it's an honor to work for such a prestigious organisation.
