Good teams but some very poor management

Get in with a consultant or marry one and you should be set for job security. There are a lot of good people who work there who are very kind and love their job and helping others. Unfortunately there are also some who are just in it for the money - maybe this is a normal thing, I dont know but it's not my kind of behaviour.

Pros

Subsidised restaurant

Cons

Bad managers

Friendly, patient focused environment

RJAH is a fantastic place to work. It's a small site, with friendly faces, and good interdepartmental working. Staff are dedicated to providing quality care, and maintaining a top quality environment for that to happen in. RJAH is a specialist Orthopaedic hospital, with several specialist services based here - often Regional centres of excellence.

Pros

Post office, and cashpoint on site, and the best-rated hospital food available in canteen too.

Cons

People stay a long time, so career progression can be a little tricky

Great Place to Work

A great place to work with an excellent reputation both locally and internationally. Staff are proud to work at the Trust and patient outcomes are often excellent. Management take employee wellbeing very seriously and are generally very supportive. The Trust is very well led and people have pulled together during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Pros

Good workplace culture, friendly colleagues, collaboration and respect for each other.

Excellent place to work

This is an excellent place to work. Being a small hospital you get to know a lot of staff. Working at a specialist and well respected hospital is really good and it is great to be a part of it. Regular appraisals and good line management. The opportunity to express any concerns and they listen to any suggestions. There are opportunities for you to progress. Excellent team work.

Pros

Excellent canteen with NHS rates
