Varies from job to job. Working in an office tends to be 0800-1700 (depending on workload)
The RAF is definitely for those who gained half decent qualifications at school, want to serve their country, but don't want the hassle of proper military life (AKA Army). This isn't a criticism, it's from personal experience from being in the Army and now working alongside the RAF as a civilian contractor.
Some times long and random, but there are other benefits to outweigh that.
Work hard play hard
Dependant on shift patterns and operational necessaity it may be long hours.
Good for me personally as i was always flexible and ready to commit at any time.
Sometimes good. Mostly highly illegal in any other place of work.
Long but varied
On call 24/7 but rarely work outside of 0700-1900 or weekends unless on ops... at which point you work long hrs, eat, sleep, repeat for 6 months daily.
