allow bullying culture, will not recognise people who are under stres, would rather drive out those who raise complaints rather than dealing with the issues
Pros
Patient satisfaction
Cons
Mixed shifts, no work/life balance
As a student, volunteer and teenager, I have been working in the wards, handing out teas and coffees to patients and have been fundraising to raise money for an interactive projector to help people with dementia (2 hours a week).
I have learnt to improve my communication skills by talking to elderly people and making sure they get the best treatment as possible.
Sometimes, when I am not able to come in, I can email the volunteer department and they understand.
The workplace culture is welcoming and the colour purple is their culture colour which represents the entire hospital.
The hardest part of the job is making sure you don't serve teas and coffees to the wrong person due to their allergies and timings.
The most enjoyable part of the job is being able to communicate with everyone around you.
Pros
flexible
Cons
less jobs
Good as volunteer work, learned new skills.
good management, worked together as a team however, there were not fixed places for me to work as I had to go to different wards each day
Pros
free lunch vouchers
Cons
no fixed department
9-5 jobs mostly
Mostly working with Databases and Excel.
Friendly people at work.
Canteen within the building, food was a 6/10.
2 stations from the office.
Processing New Starters, upgrading pay scales, calculating maternity leave, communicating with the tax office.
Christmas was extremely intense as people are paid early, massively reducing the amount of time you would normally have.
Pros
Flexi Time
Cons
Reliant on other departments.
needs a new management , someone that has done the sort of jobs before , found a good few of the d that anyone from anywhere could work there and that a good few of them had no right to work there
Very different work culture. Requires a lot of interpersonal skills.
Cons
Long Hours
