Targets unachievable staff dont have time to help you poor training managers only interested in budgets and no breaks or toilets when out on round and thats just for starters. Out in all weathers with no shelter or a place to eat.
Pros
Uniform
Cons
Everything Else no training and told too slow on second day

I was not welcome as a new recruit all old and permanent employees looked at me like and treated me like I am there to take their job .Management was very rude and unkind , I was always given most toughest route which involve lots of heavy load and involve many stairs going up and down carrying heavy load , I always ended up spending more time completing my walk and not getting paid for the overtime and always pushed from one depot to another which was very inconvenient for me .On many occasions I was bullied by the staff and many times toilets lights were turned off while I was using the toilet and left in the dark after treated badly for several months I decided to resign from the job because I realized that management is part of this whole stressful environment around me .
Pros
No
Cons
Long hours but no over time payment

I worked at a rural office and the job was OK as I drove through countryside all the time.Worst bit is there are very few full time jobs, only 15 hour contracts. Sometimes I didn't kow what shifts I was doing until late saturday for a Monday start!!Most colleagues were awful, arrogant, unhelpful, judgemental and very, very rude. This might have just been my office
Pros
Good pay, go home when finished, forget about work when not there
Cons
Xmas is REALLY busy, not kowing what shifts from day to day

I’ve been a Christmas casual at Royal Mail for 2 years in a row and enjoyed both years a lot! The managers are nice and helpful, the training is very thorough and straightforward so most people understand it quickly. Most of the job satisfaction depends on the people you are working around, the job is a lot easier if you make friends or apply with a friend. The most difficult thing about the job is standing for long periods of time which can strain your body but wearing comfortable clothes and especially shoes does a lot to help. Listening to music is also a great way to pass the time quickly as hours can really drag in. Long review but overall a good place to work!!!
Pros
Good atmosphere
Cons
Painful at times :/

It is okay when it's busy however, when it is quite the day goes by very slowly. Working as a mail sorter is an incredibly easy, basic job but not rewarding in the slightest. First couple days of doing it are fine then you realize that it is never going to change. The job becomes incredibly repetitive and boring. You are just a piece of meat used to help out for a short while, they will get rid of you when they no longer need you. You will get no notice or anything and will be told on a shift that it is your last. Furthermore, don't expect to start off as a Christmas temp, work hard and hopefully receive a permanent contract. It doesn't happen anymore. We were told we would have a lot more extra work but it never happened and we only had an extra couple weeks after Christmas.
Pros
Okay working environment
Cons
Long hours, repetitive, boring

I had a good time working here. Dont get me wrong my feet and back did hurt for a little while but only because I'm not use to it. But it's a very dedicated job and worth the paycheck.
Pros
Good pay not complicated flexible with times
Cons
Body aches after a while

I often had to show up to work well before I was due to start just to leave somewhat on time. I'd always be 2 hours late after my shift finished and I wouldn't be paid for overtime. There was only 3 days training for this job which wasn't enough to learn the routs and everything else. The vans broke down often with no support from the team. On my first day of training at Glasgow head office it wasn't about the job I was going to be doing. It was a lecture on how the company is failing and has a 5 year plan to save the company. We were told that our jobs were not safe and that we may not get to keep them very long. We also didn't get paid for this days lecture. After working for the Royal Mail for 5 weeks I decided to quit. I was not paid for my last 3 days working there. No one seemed to care at all.
Pros
Paid weekly
Cons
Everything
