Toxic environment
Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - Hereford - 9 April 2022
Very unpleasant atmosphere, management are bullies, expect you to do ‘favours’ with nothing in return. Simple enough job to do with any knowledge wouldn’t really recommend

Very nice bunch of people to work but work environment has changed drastically since privatisation.
Postman/Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - Farnham - 6 April 2022
When i started to work for RM it was really nice place, with decent wages and good working hours. However since the privatisation it was getting harder physically and mentally. Generally constant pressure and rush. It's a shame because it used to be a really good place to work.

Good environment to work on your own
Postman/Delivery Driver (Current Employee) - Hayes - 5 March 2022
It’s demanding job, long walks with bags, 20k+ steps a day, keeps you in good health. Work load is more during Christmas period. Ones you finish your work enjoy your time with family.
Pros
Paid break
Cons
Short hours

Cons
When you have to bring parcel back to depot.

Delivery Driver (Current Employee) - Shirley, West Midlands - 7 February 2022
Good company to work for and I find time goes quite fast. They do try to get a shot much work as they can out of you but, overall it’s alright. Once you know the area you work in it become self quite simple.

Fun job, Corrupt/ horrible Management (Few exceptions)
Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - Bedford, Bedfordshire - 3 February 2022
The job itself is great, however being let go because they tracked me going to a Sainsburys less than 10 min away from my delivery to use the toilet 3 times in 7 hours is messed up.
Pros
driving, scheduling your own route with the packages given.
Cons
Long hours if you want to finish the load you're assigned, Horrible management, old and inflexible as well as using stupid excuses to fire either temp or agency workers.

Royal Mail delivery job review
Sunday Delivery Driver (Former Employee) - Workington - 30 January 2022
A typical day did involve doing things such as delivering parcels but also scanning parcels and doing vehicle checks prior to setting off. Easy to get on with others but easy to get into the job once you get into a routine.

Busy but great workplace
Postman/Delivery Driver (Current Employee) - Norwich - 23 November 2021
A good secure job with decent pay however can be overwhelming with the amount of mail and parcels. In general definitely would recommend however it takes time to get up to speed. 95% of the staff is very friendly and great to work with.
Pros
Great ppl to work with, very decent benefits and good rate of pay
Cons
Sometimes it's just too much to handle, can be seriously busy and overwhelming

Fast paced, self motivated and never dull
Delivery Driver (Current Employee) - Leeds - 17 November 2021
I'm not directly employed by RM but through an agency. Both the agency and RM have been great to work for and i've not had any issues. They give you sufficient training for the job and provide a PDA for scanning parcels / planning delivery route etc. People who work there are friendly and helpful in my experience.

Busy non stop job with average wages for 2021
Collection and Delivery Driver (Current Employee) - Wolverhampton - 2 November 2021
As the years go on, royal mail has turned into an average company. Start of 2000s Royal mail was the get into company with good wages and more chance of potential earnings. 2021 has turned into an average company with average wages across the country. Many more companies are paying more After the company went privatised, its slowly going down hill and by its own employees Royal Mail will never be what it used to be - a proud business to work for.
Pros
Job security.
Cons
Takes years to get full time, No december holidays allowed, eveything is rushed and against the clock
