Long standing period but lovely core workers, busy during holiday time such a christmas. Good for quick money such as a contract of 2 to 3 months during christmas or easter

This company exploits people. Nearly everyone working there is agency, if you want secure hours, do not work here.

Work at Royal Mail within the Warrington warehouse is very unlikely if you have been brought in through an agency, no matter what agency, which are 70% of the people working there. They do not tell you this initially. Only those directly employed through the Royal Mail get full time hours. If you want hours, it is a first come first served basis, if you are quick enough to click a link and say yes, then you may get one shift. The agencies are seriously ill-informed so be warned. Working through an agency is basically a 0 hours conract. Breaks are not paid so you will get paid very little. The work itself is incredibly boring, it is easy and involves moving one box to another location, for example. The Royal Mail exploits people, it exploits those who are willing to work for less, they dont give people set hours.

Pros

If you want to work maybe one shift a month, then this is for you.

Cons

Exploiting people, mind-numbing work, poor pay.

Christmas seasonal worker

Sorting letters and parcels into the correct postcode and ensuring accuracy so that everything got to the right postcode on time for Christmas. Job involved being on your feet for most of the night and required some heavy lifting. There were two breaks and management were very friendly and relaxed. Lots of friendly people to have a laugh with. Would recommend this temporary job as it's easy and pays very well.

A really great place to work!

Regardless of other reviews, my experience at Royal Mail was very positive. There's always a good working relationship between staff and management providing you get on and just do your job. It's a nice atmosphere and overall a great company to represent!

Pros

Great working environment, good management, hours to work around you

Cons

Physically active at all times, need as much energy as possible as it is a fast paced environment.

Good pay but poor management

Worked there various times as a temp.Really good pay but management sucks.Night shift was kinda good but ruined your whole day after work. Managers had favourites and did nothing to hide it.

Not a bad temporary job over Christmas.

As a Christmas temp I enjoyed working with Royal Mail. Work is simple just a bit physical but not too bad. Thought it would be a lot more stressful than it was because of the time of year but it wasn't, was able to just get on with what I had to do, listen to some music if wanted and get through the shift.

Average Company

Average Company. Some branches are better than others. I guess it depends on the supervisor/head of each branch. Some days are more hectic than others.

Friendly employer mixture of work practices, dependent on supervisor

Easy place to work, management not perfect reluctance to change, for the better.busy environment, works canteen, television recreation areas, self serve cooking facilities.

Pros

Cons

Standing long times

It’s ok

Shame that most of people there like colleagues are not respectful enough to make you feel welcome and treated always like you’re not making part of collective work, unfortunately at the beginning I thought will be fine with it but all took a wrong turn to the limit that everyone of them got together against you,:((

Pros

As long as you know what to do everything it’s ok

Cons

Too much narcissism, hypocrisy and racism…which affect the people who’s not being English

Busy, varied, friendly

I worked as a Christmas Casual during their busiest time of year.It was a varied role, from emptying cages of parcels onto conveyor for sorting, helping out in warehouse, sorting parcels into postcode areas and house keeping duties.

Pros

Good atmosphere, varied work

Cons

Short notice on overtime

Casual Temp Job

Worked as a temp night shift Christmas parcel sorter at the Cardiff warehouse. Covid restrictions were set in place and workers were made to feel safe. The job is easy enough to do but it will take a strain on your legs for the first week if you're not used to standing 8-10 hours. The managers were easy going but not actual trained managers, usually posties asked to oversee which meant they'd often act or talk inappropriately to temps. Upper management were not very organised this year which left the warehouse managers in the dark. With working overtime make sure to note down your hours as many found pay inaccurate. Bonus was if you agreed to work overtime and came in early but sent home early they'd still pay you for the overtime. The other temps were friendly enough and felt like a diverse workplace.

Pros

Easy to learn the job, Paid overtime even if sent home early

Cons

Can be monotonous, Warehouse was cold, Poor pay for nights

Work hours

This place is good for work and pay but the only problem here they don't give you full-time contract (only 0 hours contract available) only November,December and January are busy from my experience because I joined this in September. Overall good and friendly staff.

Pros

Cheep coffee and tea, friendly staff, big parking space and easy job

Cons

Not busy all year 0hs contract
