Good location, great work/life balance and fair benefits. Lots of bureaucracy and numerous duplicate systems to record progress and reporting. Excessive reviews of any reports or changes to Projects. Very short and unrealistic deadlines - require constant change requests. Very rigid structure - Project Managers discouraged from any technical involvement.

Productive and Insightful
Worked on Knowledge and Technology Transfer (KTT) Team within the R&D team doing knowledge searches, literature reviews and producing reports for both internal purposes and external stakeholders such as DfT (Department for Transport). Received an insight into the rail industry and how engineering project and business cases develop. Very friendly colleagues and you get to meet people from other department as well.
