Awful Place Too Work

Indeed featured review

The most useful review selected by Indeed
Wouldn't waste your time applying or working here, Absolutely awful and micro management Staff were favoured whilst others were expected to stay on and do jobs that others were to lazy to do restocking buckets and counting bed linen Bullying in the workplace making u feel intimidated lack of confidentiality no morals and no standards Managers are completely useless and have no idea how to treat staff

Pros

None worth getting excited about

Cons

Long hours and couldnt leave when you finished

Lovely place to work

Really enjoy working at Ruda, staff are all lovely and it’s a good environment to work in. Everyone gets along well and management always treats staff well and fairly.

Good development

I started part time and have worked my way up within the company and am now bar manager at a new site. The training and development has been great and I am glad I started at Ruda as that is where people are sent to learn. The team are fun and hardworking. It is a very busy park and there is always something to be doing but everyone works together and it is more enjoyable than working in a normal restaurant in town

Pros

Team discounts at local attractions. Team discounts online on bounce

Was an okay work place.

While working here, it was fine. You got left to your own devices, so you were able to just get your job list and get on with it. You can stay for as long as you like and leave when every you like as long as your work was done.

Valued & recognised for the work I do

Each department is different, but as a whole, Parkdean Resorts is a brilliant company to work for. Monthly recognition events for those that are nominated by guests/other team members, insentives & targets displayed well so I always know what I'm working towards & of course it's all about having fun & enjoying my job... What better place to do that than on a holiday park!? Management are supportive, encouraging & motivating & I would highly recommend Ruda & PDR to anyone! Hardest part of the job is when we don't work together as a team - including different departments. We are all here to provide guests with an enjoyable and memorable stay - so let's work together to do that!

Pros

Recognition, insentives & rewards

Cons

Travel

Poor place

First of all if you like having to work to point of exhaustion and getting paid the bare minimum you’ll love this job, management only focus on where they can cut back on budgets so they can have there all expenses paid holidays and act like they’ve done all the work. Ruda years ago was the best place to work at and now it may aswell be a slave labour camp.

Pros

Nothing

Cons

Everything

Poor management

I only lasted a month here- the actual work is okay and the pay is decent enough, however the management seems poor and the higher staff are slightly patronising. Expectations are high right from the first shift, with many experienced workers acting unpleasant towards new staff due to their slower pace, despite knowing they are new! The holiday lodges are in my experience, a far nicer environment to work in, everyone was friendlier and very helpful in comparison to some members of the caravan cleaning department.

Pros

Practical hours

Cons

Poor management, rude coworkers

Job itself is fine, awful cleaning management

The job itself is fine but management of the cleaning department is awful! Some staffed are favoured easy with work while others are slammed down with too many vans to clean. Often too much work given in too shorter time to be completed. Over worked & under paid. Picked up & dropped when suits manager. Not trained properly

Pros

Discount at shop & resorts

Cons

Over worked under paid

Poor

While the pool was a very fun place to work at times, there is massive favouritism of certain members of staff. The management would let some people get away with things, and others not. There is the bare minimum of training and very little opportunity for advancement. Constant mixed messages about professionalism with some rules rigidly inforced, others completely ignored. While some will be inforced for a while, then people give up trying. While most of the lifeguards are fun to work with, others seem to think they are above the rules and instead of helping new staff will belittle them.

Pros

Lots of breaks

Cons

Poor rate of pay, management, no advancement.

its ok place to work

Start with preperation for lunch, after lunch preperation for evening. its hard days work in the kitchen and days are long some times working as many as 13 hours a day with 1 hour not payed break. Co-workers are nice people to work with but that depends on department of working. Hardest part of the job is evening shift for thats when it gets busiest, its 5 hours of non stop running about cooking. Managment is ok, is they feel the need for you they will treat you ok. If not, they can be not nice people, but thats not very uncommon.

Cons

no free food even for chefs.
