Easy job. Nice place to work.
Machine Operator (Current Employee) - Oakham - 31 March 2021
Indeed featured review
The most useful review selected by IndeedAs far as factory jobs go - it's a good one. Everyone I've met has been friendly and welcoming. I've never felt under any undue pressure. If you're unsure of anything, there's always plenty of people who are happy to help. Best part of the job, is how laid back things are; and there's plenty of overtime available if you want to make some more money. Worst part is it can get very monotonous and boring, and you can't listen to head phones or the radio. If you could, I think a lot more operators would be up for doing overtime. Can't understand the negative reviews though. The place is fine.
Pros
Friendly. Easy job. Good amount of Holidays.
Cons
Can get very boring.

Best factory environment I've ever worked in
Operator (Current Employee) - Oakham, Rutland - 14 December 2021
RP is a very good place to work, with good pay, excellent facilities and all the support anyone could want. I don't understand the negative reviews to be honest. Must simply be sour grapes because I haven't witnessed any of these negative things

Was a pleasure to work there, although I needed to resign, problem for me commuting to work, Stable job, working hard and earn good money and go home, no bulying, everybody professional, so would recommend working there
Pros
Good for money, good fulltime benefits
Cons

Shame because it could be good.
Production Operative (Former Employee) - Oakham - 17 January 2021
The very best in 'mod cons', unfortunately governed by short sighted directors that pay 'yes' men to run It for them. If someone they like is not up to the job, rather than getting in someone else, they throw more money/resources at them. They have brought in new blood to try to water down the incestuous workforce already there, but insist they work within too many restraints therefore they are not able to do their job effectively. Company values are posted everywhere however you are not encouraged to adhere to them, indeed the culture is one of blame and recriminations rather than true teamwork. Everyone is forced to throw teammates under the bus rather than take responsibility for mistakes. When work is plentiful its ok, when it's not they remove the operators. Plenty of people at middle level that ought to go first as they are incompetent at their jobs. In fact, this is the first warehouse I've known where the manager has never worked in that environment before, yet makes all major decisions then wonders why warehouse costs so much in terms of missing stock, lost deliveries etc. Not a clue!! One of the protected ones though. Indeed, a lot of the long standing team leaders/managers are bully's and pick on the young workers because no one holds them to account.
Pros
Regular wage
Cons
No job stability

Good company.
Operator (Current Employee) - Oakham, Rutland - 12 January 2021
After reading the two other reviews I have to object. I have been here a few years now and it is a decent place to work. There is a new boss that has done some long needed work getting the old Skool lazy people to pull their weight - which is probably the people that are complaining - but it has made life much better for everyone else in the place. I can’t fault it really
Pros
Decent supervisor and manager
Cons
None really. Bit strict with mobiles.

Modern day sweatshop
Warehouse (Current Employee) - Oakham, Rutland - 22 October 2020
If you want to take a step back in time, where bullying is rife from the very top down and is actively encouraged, with slave labour and neanderthal management then this is your lucky day. Please don't apply unless you have 6 fingers, webbed feet, play cricket or have any kind of relevance to the Deliverance as you will remain on the bottom rung whilst all the far less qualified league of gentlemen climb over you and then tell you how to do your job. Sitcom the Office was very successful, I think maybe they should let the cameras into this place, I am sure it would get prime time viewing.
Pros
None I can think of
Cons
Too many to mention

Years ago you were treated with respect not any more you are just a number
Machine Operator and Packer (Current Employee) - Oakham, Rutland - 29 August 2019
I wouldn't recommend anyone to take a job there to many clicky people . Everyone is related and if your not then it's not worth taking a job there. They dont advertise jobs that are available they just give to people that they like which is totally unfair
