Only in bases where there is no change in aircrafts during the summer period. During summer, some bases will receive extra aircrafts to accommodate more passengers during the summer months, so they send/hire more crew. Because there's a higher amount of cabin crew, they ask some crew to take unpaid leave. Some bases don't ask at all, just depends on where you are based.
