Working in the homeless environment, no two days were the same, but everyone worked together. No hierarchy or politics, just everyday people making a difference. This helped bring us together. I have made some lifetime friends in this job, and was sad to have to go.
Amazing people and personal rewards
I am currently studying for my masters degree and Safehands have been very helpful in giving me hours to suit my study pattern. The staff in the office are very friendly and they provide a good level of accredited training modules that count towards my continual professional development. I would highly recommend others to work with this company.
Hours to suit your needs
You get alot of pressure put on you by management, even once you have said no to doing a shift. They are also very impolite and forceful. The shifts you do accept very often get cancelled at last minute or swapped for other dates. Definitely the worst job by far, I have ever had. I wouldn't recommend working for this company at all.
I was told it would be flexible and it wasn't.
Targets change all the time, told you're doing a good job then that changes very quickly. Senior management aren't very good, say they will do things but don't. Conflict is not resolved, you are made to feel a nuisance if you raise an issue. Very malicious culture.
I didnt have a problem working for them. They always makes sure workers are paid in time if any queries its resolves quickly. Work are given enough time to prepare unless in an emergencies that you might be rushed
Good understanding people
Sometimes wont get through as u want
Decent agency to work for. Plenty of shifts, sometimes call you in advance, lovely staff at Cardiff branch. It's nice picking your own hours, and very understanding. However, lowish pay considering they charge the most when using their workers. Prioritise new workers. Overall, its decent but could be better.
plenty of work and hours, nice staff, flexibility
poor pay, pressure, long hours
Worked at the Cardiff branch don't waste your time, they have lowered pay yet they are one of the most expensive charging companies! They are used as last resort so think that says something, the office staff are not very good it's all about making money and when you do shifts they always under pay you so your chasing your pay! Plenty other agencies out there so go elsewhere I would. Be Warned!
Bristol branch is very badly run. I found the attitude of the manager and the office staff appalling. They do not care about staff, its all about covering shifts. I cancelled a shift due to an emergency and got told that I would be charged... total fools who have no interest in staff just profit. Furthermore, when I signed up with them, I was given shifts more or less the next day without even checking references... goes to show they don't even adhere to current legislation. Keep off!!!
Absolutely nothing whatsoever
